After I installed a lift with larger tires on my Tacoma, I noticed the MPH on my speedometer was about 6-7 mph off when on the highway. I recently discovered the HyperTech speedometer calibrator and I created a video while I programmed it and installed it into my 3rd Gen Tacoma.

    HyperTech speedometer calibrator - https://hypertech.com/products/speedometer-calibrators-inline-730123

This was a very simple install and now the speedometer is way more accurate with 33's tires. With a more accurate speedometer that also means the odometer will be more accurate too. Don't be like me and wait 2 years to install this, recalibrate your Tacoma right after you change your tire size!

The 7% difference of the 33s hasn’t bothered me and I also run 31s during the winter, so I haven’t done anything.

My math says that on 33s, you have to go 96mph in order for the speedo to read 90.

I went up to 285s a while back and my KDMAX tuner did an updated tune and installed my in-line calibration. I can tell you it's not that easy to calibrate. He used the computer and gps speeds to get it more accurate as we drove it, made adjustments and did this a few times to nail it perfect.

I have the Rough Country version, and have used it for years. Same thing as the HyperTech and half the cost.

on 33s my gps speed is 104kmh when speedo is on 100. close enough for me not to bother with it but il probably get after going 35s. not sure why yours is so far off. the tire size isnt even close to that big of a percentage more

I added a Hypertech to mine. It is still off by 1mph when comparing to Waze, but I can live with that

I assume the first thing should be re-aiming your headlights so you don’t blind everyone else on the road.

Speedometers have a +-10% tolerance range. Tacos come in different tire sizes.
My guess is the set it for the middle size and use the same speedometer in all.
    It was probably already off.?
I only went from 31's to 32's and there isn't much difference. 1 mph, if that.

I never paid attention to what mine was before adding the tires, it must have been off before even changing the factory tires

I put mine in about 2 weeks ago with 285's my speedo was off by 3mph at 60 mph it didn't start to differ until i hit 40mph on up. The miles per hour didn't bother me as much as when the gas light came on and said 10 miles to empty i fill up and it only takes 18 gallons. Now miles to empty is back to normal. I just put tire size in and it is right on the money to gps. I did however have to unhook the battery to get the miles to empty to reset and calculate. I'm currently going to hand calculate to see how close the lie o meter is.

They don't, it just a rebranded Hypertech unit.
They don't. It looks like a rebranded Hypertech unit. Or they both get them from the same supplier.
