confused on harness

i have a 2021 tacoma with led headlights from factory. i have ordered cwcustoms led trim plates and some switchback turn signals. what harness will i need for these? thanks

 

If you have full LED headlights and you want to capture park or turn it’d be some flavor of LED T harness. But I don’t know what signals those two items need. You’d have to tell me.

 

im wanting them to come on with my drl headlights with my truck when i turn it on and they turn off when the truck is off. i just ordered some raptor grill lights also. id like it all to be mostly plug and play.

 

It would be your responsibility to determine the inputs to these devices.

My default LED T includes DRL, park and ground, then a diode module combining DRL and park to a single positive which is on anytime the stalk is not off. Then a pigtail to connect grille lights or whatever.

 

so i just need to order the led t harness and i should be good to go then? im also confused on which t harness i will need to have all 3 working, would i just need the driver t harness? or the turn signal? im confused

 

I would recommend finding someone to help you with this.

 

OK, so, I see your order for one driver side LED T. That will work OK for the trim panels but you'll need a wire across the grille to get to the one on the other side.



I assume you're "stuck" because they don't offer an OEM LED PnP harness. If you have the trim plates already or you want to wait until you receive them and take a photo of the connector they have (if any) that could help. You could also send to me and I can make it fully PnP if that's truly what you desire.

Another thing to consider, these trim pieces on with DRL or Park is going to be different behavior than the Pro/TRD or OffRoad/Sport lights which are only on with the parking light signal. You might want to think about that and watch your own truck and observe. Remember to release the parking brake once to get the DRL signal on.

As for:
some switchback turn signals

I can't help much without more information there but if you desire capturing the turn signal wire you definitely would need one per side (as left turn is different from right turn) and an off-menu version of the LED T which supplies turn. Very doable but again, need more specific info.

I would recommend pausing on your order and have you post some photos of your gear once you have it before proceeding.

If, however, you want exactly what you ordered, I'm happy to send that. I just think you'll be happiest taking your time, not rushing it, thinking it through, understanding it before you begin the install.
