I'm in need of a new(er) trimmer, mine runs decent but the trimmer head is completely F-d and it's an odd design, such that new replacement heads don't fit it. I'm considering screwing some lanyard cable through the spool to see if that works.

@hyrule_trd if that receptacle is in the kitchen it should not be on the lighting circuit. It should be on a 20 amp small appliance countertop circuit

Good to know. That level is all open, that’s between the kitchen and family room. I couldn’t tell if the wire was ran with the wires from the light switch or it stole power from one of the lights. It did have a power, neutral and ground from a romex sleeve.

Hey yall, do we have any plumbers in here? I have a leak. This cap seems to be dripping. The water is coming from between the cap and the brass fitting. Between there also appears to be some sort of gray putty-like goo. I can neither tighten nor loosen the cap, but it leaks. Ideas?

 

Stick a wrench on the brass fitting and another on the galvanized cap to remove. Need to hold that pro press fitting on there. Get a new brass cap, the galvanized or iron cap is a dissimilar material and will corrode. Wrap a couple wraps of teflon tape and then a layer of pipe dope. Tighten the same method as removal.

If you can't remove and install a new cap you're gonna have to cut off that pipe right above the pro press fitting. If you don't want to solder on a cap, you can get a Sharkbite fitting.

EDIT: It might also be the pro press fitting leaking too.

 

Swung by my local dealer yesterday. 4-5 Tacos’s on the lot, around 15 Tundra’s. Prices are insane, $46k for an SR5 Taco, $53k for a Sport Taco. Didn’t see a Tundra under high $50’s.

Salesman complimented my 3rd gen, we chatted for a bit about the prices. They know the prices have gone batshit crazy. Dude didn’t even try to sell me on a new truck.

 

Thanks for the great info! Reason I asked is because I was trying to loosen it, had a wrench on the pro press and one on the gal cap, but even then I couldn't get it to budge. I was actually surprised at the metal combo myself, I suppose it chemically welded itself there. And whatever sealing putty they used probably doesn't help.

As for leak source, I wiped it dry and the water is coming from between the pro press and the gal cap. I'll it it with some flour just to verify, but I may end up needing to cut that pipe. I don't know why our contractor did that...

 

That was a 3pm on a Friday and there's not the right stuff in the truck setup you got there

 

The weird thing is I needed to go back to an automatic, so I was looking at some certified '22 and '23. They were literally a grand less than a new 2024.
