Almost forgot. Some may find this interesting. This couple was 2 sites down from me. Sold their house and are out traveling, figure they'll be out for at least a year.

It all went to shit when they started with the wiz quizes & DUI's!

Wasn't me, I was the one sitting in the corner of the bar quietly watching everybody.

don’t buy one of these. They don’t work in places it rains or that have humidity. I parked mine for the summer and it was full of water and there was mold everywhere.

I think breakfast started out as leftover dinner anyway. I felt a little silly, but that chicken Alfredo hit the spot.

Had one of those, but we put the extension on turning it into a six footer.

We used PVC and made a 180' bong back in my day. It took 6# of weed just to fill the bowl.

Sorry to break up the party stories

I went a little overboard on installing everything at once. Kept getting calls from the missus to go to bed but I was giving those rusted bolts hell.

Had to re-use some of them to clean up the rusty threads too. New hardware is grade 8 button head bolts. Should slide nicely over any rocks.

Bummed I have a couple scratches already courtesy of FedEx Ground, but that's what they're meant for. Scratches and stories. Otherwise the powder coat is solid everywhere else.

    PXL_20240426_010719801.jpg

It's too dark and I'm too tired to take a decent picture of the full thing so I'll take one in the morning. Just have the transfer case skid left to put on.

Love the idea of that. So does my wife. We have talked about it . Then I realize that it just won't go where I want to go... Some of you got a taste of my madness in Arkansas and for what that rig cost I could seriously spec out the flatbed.

We have friends that have one of these campers and they are very nice indeed. When we sat down and seriously looked at buying one, we could not justify spending that much money just to go camping. An awful lot of money for a single use vehicle.

Sorry to interrupt the Glamper stories but these dopers are finally speaking my language.
These stories describe a typical weekend in my mid 20's.
3 nights in Denver a buddy and I went through an ounce of weed, 3 - 8 balls, about a dozen pills of X and beverages, of course.
Yonder Mountain String Band @ the Fillmore.

Went to 5 shows in 7 days, around the country one other time, I remember.
At the 4th show I aquired a vile of lsd in Kansas City to go with our other extra curriculars.
If any of you are unfamiliar, LSD sends you on a ride for a good 7-8hrs.
    Concerts go about 3?
Needless to say we had to leave K.C. after the show in order to get to the last one at Alpine Valley.
I drove from K.C. to an undisclosed wayside somewhere between there and East Troy with a head full of acid. To this day I couldn't get you back there.
By morning the wayside grounds were littered with strung out hippies all from the same show, all going to the next.

I still have and use my hitter.:rasta:

I think it's justified when you're living in it full time and no longer have a house etc.

But those are people with good retirements im assuming

Strange how all these early party stories were the topic last night.
Last evening at work it was 80s rock on YouTube.
Scorpions, Dokken, Tesla, Whitesnake, well you get the idea.
Coworker about my age comes in and we start talking about the good days.
Kid Forman come walking in and asks if we remember what we were doing back in the day. We both responded "Gettin High":rasta:

This is what you need, but it's a shame we can't get new Unimog trucks here in America.

Yes, these folks have replaced their house with one on wheels, completely different set of considerations. As much as we both love months long camping adventures, we always enjoy returning to home base.

Guys, all of this was meant as a joke. I know it's probably obvious to those who know me better. But, I wanted to clarify that, in case anyone wasn't sure.
