So I installed my first "accessory" on the new-to-me L3901... a Right-side Fender Grip (handle). Helpful for an old guy like me climbing on.
Next up is gonna be something to help with picking up piles of cut branches, logs, and brush to move to the burn pile. I had been thinking grapple, but that would cost several thousand including adding the 3rd function hydraulics. Then I started considering that pallet forks might be about as useful as the grapple for that task, plus would be additionally useful for just picking up and moving other heavy stuff. Searching this thread I found these posts.. Any more thoughts/comments on the pallet fork idea?

Forks are great on a tractor, I wouldn’t recommend the ones that clamp on the bucket though.

I agree with @six5crèéd I would stay away from the clamp to bucket forks. I got a set of forks from Titan and have been happy. I find them very useful. I also don’t have the third function and so I stayed away from the grapple for that reason

NOTE: you don't need a 3rd function for the grapple. Look at mine. It's all mechanical/gravity. Love it! Affordable, QA ready & good up to 2500lbs! Check it out. Brushcrusher.com

This is what I do currently with my chains....

Good set of QA forks like he posted or get a good set local to you. Don't waste time with clamp ones.
They are fine for tiny stuff. NOT safe for the kind of things you are gonna lift with that 3901. Stay safe! & Same to you: look at my grapple. No hydro's needed!! Not expensive & QA. Brushcrusher 4200.

Wow! What a hot mess! That generator motor distructed with extreme prejudice!

I'll send out more pics after I get it pulled apart more.

Be sure to look at titan attachments.... Always good quality, usually free shipping.

I'm running a set of CID Extremest. They were about 750 at my local farm store.

But the two do look the same to you, other than color? I don't see any other difference.

The orange USA model has a 2" receiver in the middle. That could be useful for moving trailers and such around.

This was the original motor. The new motor is in place...hopefully I can get 20 years out of it.

I do have to admit, it's kind of embarrassing.

I make my side gig money fixing ZT mowers.

The ZT mowers and generators use very similar power plants.

I push for customers to keep up on maintenance, yet I couldn't keep this unit running proper past 139 hours and I changed oil and adjusted valves every year.

    Pathetic.

    It upsets me a bit.
