I retired and try to stay out of the ER. Lost Annie - Jul 22. Got another doggo - Gizmo - should be about 2 now. Still have Zoie (she's getting up there in age) Other than that, same old, same old. As you can see, this thread doesn't get much attention anymore.... sad

Congrats on the 2 rug rats and sorry about the pup :-(

Lymphoma is crazy fast unfortunately. He was a happy healthy dog. His blood tests had all came back good 9 months prior. We had left the dogs home for a weekend and when we came back his neck was all swollen up. Took him into the vet and they did a biopsy that came back as lymphoma. We started him on Prednisone which brought him almost completely back to normal for a couple weeks. The next 4 weeks were a slow descent down to where I was carrying him around the last few days of his life. The Pred at least bought us 6 more weeks with him.
This is him in those first 2 weeks on the Pred.

still pretty! cant believe we've gotten so little snow this winter...crazy

actually just moved. my apartment in belgrade sold at the end of november and the new owners gave us all 30 days to get out. found something temporary in butte but ultimately i want to be buying something before summer. cant afford much here in MT but I've been looking more and more at ID. stuff is more affordable then up here and a city that size i would have other job opportunities should i decide to move on from my current job.
any pros cons you guys have about the area? neighborhoods to avoid?

I've enjoyed living in Idaho Falls. Its' big enough to have stuff in town to get stuff same day like a Cabelas/Walmart and lots of restaurants, but small enough that it's real easy to get out in the outdoors.

INL pays pretty well and the workload isn't bad generally. I can't really speak for neighborhoods. Maybe avoid anything built by Rockwell, they tend to do real cheap work, but I'm not sure anyone else is any better nowadays. You'll likely be limited to what little you can find. We've had so many out of staters move in since 2020 that they number of houses in the area has almost doubled. There is new construction everywhere.

i don't think i'd want to go to a bigger city. but i do need to be in a city for jobs. i've been working remote for my current job since 2020 which has been nice
right now the only thing in my price range anywhere in MT are older modular homes. nothing stick built unless its 100 years old and could double as a meth lab. at least in IF i could get into a stick built home - yeah it might be 50-60 years old but still in better condition than anything im seeing up here.

So much chaos!!! I'm surprised how many parents just dropped their 4/5 year olds off and left. We don't really know any of these people either. Our kids just go to the same daycare.
