I'm not new. And I'm not stupid. Unless you mean new Taco owners are pansies and fail to have recognized they bought an ordinary truck. And *not* a Bentley.

*That* .... in terms of a warranty claim... is absolutely and utterly ridiculous. Petty. Infantile. Trivial. Stupid. A complete waste of time. The OP absolutely *DESERVES* to be shamed here.

There are FAR more important things to worry about.

Any brand-new vehicle shouldn't have paint issues no matter what it is.

People pay a premium to own a Tacoma, we should also expect the paint to not fall off.

Update - the dealership is going to fix the paint. I provided proof that I work at Toyota, and I'm a repair confirmation specialist in quality. I had backup support from the factory paint shop specialists as well.

Hopefully this gets processed as an actual warranty claim because that adds to the statistic for future recalls.

will update with photos when the repair is completed, probably a week or so

Sounds about right, glad they got you taken care of, but the rest of us are SOL trying claim to get things repaired.
Now let me be fair here- I also read lot's of persnickety booshit here, and I am sure that's not 1% of what the dealer's service department hears on a daily basis, so I am not sure I can blame them.
which came first, the chicken or the egg?

LMAO. Who knew paint could fall off? What does that mean? Like a leaf falling from a tree? Is that how paint "falls off"?
    --------------------------
And, no, nobody is paying a "premium" price to own a Toyota Tacoma. That is just hyperbole and utter nonsense. You bought one of the most common trucks in the world. You did not pay a "premium" for it. Stop with the nonsense.

You paid what is called FAIR MARKET VALUE based on the simple economic principle of supply-demand.

Even if you fill your tank with 93 octane, you still did not pay a "premium" price. You merely filled your tank with 93 octane that ..... drum roll..... wait for it.... costs more than 87 octane because it is more expensive to produce.

No it’s not falling off but it is starting to lift, it’s failing just like mine and many others that purchased white Toyotas

I feel like you have a chip on your shoulder against me for some reason? But I am curious why, of all the metaphors you could have used, you picked gasoline?

    They call it.. "premium" gas..

Paying more for something because it costs more is what paying a premium means.

I had a similar issue with my 2023. I got home from the dealer after buying it and noticed a smudge on the bottom of the rocker panel. That smudge turned out to be the primer. When I rubbed it with a rag the paint came off. The paint felt tacky. It came off both rocker panels and the bottom of both front fenders. You might want to get a little rubbing alcohol on a rag and see if you have a bigger issue. Toyota has already repaired mine I believe was around $3700.
