Some old lady was making a right turn, anticipated for the vehicle oncoming on my left side (she applied her breaks and her husbands [she states] bronco showed visible signs of said break pressure) yet failed to look to her left for my vehicle. I suppose I could have averted the situation, however, I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

edit: it just occurred to me that even if I tried to take evasive action. I would be left with the possibility of hitting the car driving opposite of me (heading north bound while I was going south) or hitting her car more dead on with my front passenger side of the truck. Either way I drew the shortest straw.

It's amazing to me how most accidents happen in parking lots. You really have to have your head on a swivel.

Parking lot incident might actually play out as a no-fault. Most likely your insurance will cover your truck. I hate parking lots. They are a nightmare for people not paying attention. Never trust anybody.

Pretty reassuring to here, my only complaint with the whole ordeal i
Real, this particular section of this Safeway plaza parking lot disperses traffic to 3 different businesses (and to the main road itself). I guess it was high time I contributed to some kind of statistic.

When I taught my boys how to drive, I told them both that the riskiest place they will ever operate a vehicle is a Walmart parking lot! It's technically private property and cops won't even respond anymore for an accident report in many places.

unfortunately, i believe i know almost exactly what it's going to cost. i just went through damage for the same panels from a rogue suicidal deer.

you have a small amount of damage on the bed side panel, but otherwise is essentially very similar in terms of damage coverage-- big dent in the rear door, small in the front door, and damage to the rear c-pillar

they had to replace the rear door on my truck because the crash bar within the door structure was compromised, you'll likely face the same issue.

mine came to $6600, and took about 2 weeks to repair. just be warned, they need to pull the bed to properly repair the c-pillar damage, so if you're one of those people that likes to keep a lot of stuff in the bed, take it out and save them some hassle and cost during the repair.

Parking lot only means that there won't be a citation issued, not that it would be treated as no-fault.

Badly, just went through this situation. Guy walked right past the huge line of cars waiting in line to exit the garage to get in his car, started it and backed right into the side of me, then said "oh I didn't see you, where were you?"

Had my brother in law not been there to reel me in that guy's night might have been much worse.

How u figure … Parked in multiple spots and blocking view of traffic . But whatever …yes the bronco should have yielded but if view was blocked . The rv has some blame for it other spots they could have parked to not block view ..

I think you were smarter not to try evasive action, in small quarters if you went left and hit someone else you're at fault most likely. At least this way you're not getting an insurance premium increase.

    It's crazy!
Everyday I go upstairs at my gym to start on the treadmill or stair climber that has a bird's eye view of a massive parking lot. I see near misses and idiotic behavior nearly every damn day. Just yesterday, I saw two different vehicles driving across the middle (perpendicular) to the parking lanes, they were "flying" for parking lot speeds. The lead dipshit turns to drive the wrong way down one of the lanes (to snag a front spot) and nearly collides with dipshit #2 who took another lane (correct direction). The antics are comical to watch, yet overall disappointed in the human race.

That’s a Google earth picture, used for context. I highly doubt that the RV was there at the time of the accident.

Completely impossible to prove liability against a legally parked vehicle. Very difficult against an illegally parked vehicle. The RV isn't protruding into either lane of travel, and the Bronco 100% had a duty to yield to OP driving in the main aisle. RV is 0% at fault here. Bronco is 100% at fault.
