I have an emotional reaction to it. I'm never going to pay over MSRP for a vehicle. People do that shit all the time but I won't.

 

If people pay that much (which I doubt) then Toyota is very stupid to price their vehicles too low. They are basically donating to the dealerships. Very stupid indeed. But I suspect they are not so stupid and the dealers are just think just mark ups are the new norm (like home sellers thinking they can get the same price today as they did in 2022). But either way, the market just operates without regard. It just is.

 

Good for you. You’re a free market participant. Act as you will and more power to you. I also don’t pay mark ups generally.

 

Not betting at all, just adding a data point. I don’t think any of the LCs were “special” either.

 

People pay more for things all the time to avoid waiting or to get there first.

Used to be called Fastpass. Now it's Genie/Lightning.

 

You guys gotta move to Canada where mark ups are quite frowned upon by the dealers

Ranges by province. Probably is more but can't complain with free health care.

The U.S. government does not provide health benefits to citizens or visitors. Any time you get medical care, someone has to pay for it. Healthcare is very expensive. According to a U.S. government website, if you break your leg, you could end up with a bill for $7,500.

 

And a TH is $86k to start with.

 

Yeah I am not going to get in to all that but do you get charged a 15% tax on the purchase of a vehicle?

 

Ya I don't understand why models can be different prices. Mind you if we got the Pre runner up here I would have prob opted for that.

I've heard that, but isnt there no regulations around dealer addons?

I've always heard Canadian dealers just use required addons as a workaround to markups

If anybody was wondering if the allocation sheet would ever be updated again it won’t. The guy that was running it came out and basically said all of his posts are under a microscope right now

 

Toyota makes finding the vehicle you want to buy from them difficult enough. Toyota doesn't want anyone else helping you find the vehicle you want to buy.

 

My truck I pick up tomorrow has nothing added on to it. But saying that there was a thing in the news last year I think it was in Ontario a dealer wouldn't sell a guy a car with out a bunch of add ons done to it which is pretty greasy. I have never seen it myself. Mind you I am on the smallest province and I bought my truck in Halifax our local Toyota has 4 salesmen when I went to Halifax a few weeks ago to look at the truck I pick up tomorrow there were 19 I was shocked
