My niece went to Florida this week with her husband. Sent me a text saying he wanted to stop at some car place called Garlits Museum. Told her she should definitely stop in there and it’s not just some museum. Told her to send me some pics. She sent just one.

 

Probably be awhile before I go to Florida but when I do it’s on my list of places to go! @RLMoody has posted some great pictures of this.

 

Do any of you doing customs have a good site for decals besides ebay? I happened across a set that I thought would be fun(or maddening) for me to dink around with in my downtime but I find it really odd that all my searching for options just ends up pointing to ebay

What decals are you looking for? I've posted a link several times for decals for those repainting the 3rd gen Tacoma for the headlights etc. There's a ton of decals on his website and a ton of wheels.

@Kilo Charlie Take a wild guess lol. The 85 Park Ranger is a phantom so I thought I'd try painting a red 5th gen. I found a set of actual National Park badges, stripes, and the US Park Ranger rather than the generic type badges Matchbox uses on their series. Taking the boy to Hobbytown later to look at paint

Don Garlit's Museum is a must see if you are anywhere near Disney World. Its about an hour north of Orlando in Ocala. You get off the interstate and your there. They have 2 buildings with several hundred old vintage original drag cars. Its the real deal with most of the big name drivers from the past. We were there during a week day and early. Don Garlit's was there walking around and talking to people. We got pictures with him which for me was really cool. He had me pranking his crew chief. Most people don't remember who he was and Don had me go up and fall all over meeting him for autographs and pictures. Don said that made his day.

This one is a 1/24 95 Corvette promo given out at car dealerships. Dad would buy a white Corvette and the son would get a matching promo like this. Mine has been heavily modified. I wasn't counting on the plastic being so brittle and it was scary trying not to have it snap apart where you didn't want it to. I wound up having to use another chassis under this one which fit nicely. I Pro Streeted this one and notched the hood to clear the Muscle Machine blower and bug catcher. There is no engine under the hood. I made a plate to fit under the hood and painted it black before I bolted the blower on top of it. The interior was hacked to fit the massive rear tires so I cut cardboard fillers and covered them with stainless steel tape. Also had to buff the yellowing of the plastic. There is no paint on the body of this kit. Very happy with outcome.
