Someone hit my truck bending my DS doors outward. No question on liability, but I do have an option to get a payout and fix myself ... or have a shop do it. I'm 95% sure once I get new hinges on the front door I'll be good, and I am going to try to confirm, that this weekend. For repairs, I'm looking at replacing:
    - outer front door panel and hinges
    - front fender panel

I'd love to hear anyone's tips / experience replacing the outer door panel on an existing door. Easy? Hard? Everything in the door still functions fine.

You’re going to have to replace the entire door. It’s not terribly hard. Just requires a helper.

I stripped the old door since I moved everything to my not damaged replacement door. made install easy since it was light, then just added everything back. But I ran the wiring harness prior to installing. There's like 4 connections you have to undo in the kick panel by the door, probably was the hardest part since it was tight in there. Forgot where I figured out how to remove the door, I think it was a youtube video on swapping doors out for "trail doors" on a 3rd gen.

Aligning the door is also, cake. Much easier than on my previous DMC-12, Im being serious, worse doors to align.

You shouldnt have a hard time finding that color door and fender. I see more black trucks being parted out on facebook marketplace or carpart.com than I do super white, makes me... super jealous.

the only snag I see with your situation may be the welded on hinges, so long as those are not compromised youll be good.

I'm really hoping those hinges are bolted since they're clearly bent out on mine at the moment ... but always looking for ways to improve my welds. My existing panels are cheap Maaco black so I assume I can match that -- or at least scratch up the new quick enough to look like the old haha. I was mostly concerned about swapping everything from the old to new so good to hear it's not too bad. thanks!
