Picked up a new ‘23 TRD Sport access cab 4x4 w/6MT. Primary use is for my dive company, she’ll be busy hauling the boat and scuba gear.

No plans for any off-roading mods, I have an old Jeep for that.

Only suspension mods planned are 5100 level and AAL to compensate for any rear sag while towing.

Installed some black emblem overlays and black tailgate Tacoma letters. I found some trail storage boxes, I’m probably going to pick those up. They would be perfect for some secure bed storage for boat and dive gear. Also ripped off the air dam, much better.

I also have the TRD Pro grill on the way (of course).

Here she is, right off the lot. She’s going in for some TRD Pro wheels and Falken AT3s tomorrow.

EDIT: I wanted to post a picture of my old 2006 Tacoma. Owned her from 2008-2012. This picture was right before I sold her. Should’ve kept her.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Nice and welcome to TW! She needs a nice stainless exhaust tip.

A little of this and a little of that.
Sharp looking truck! Congrats on finding an AC Sport manual transmission.

I have a 2020 AC Sport manual and it’s been a great truck.

Thanks! The color has really grown on me. Don't see too many as well.

Fresh OEM TRD Pro's and Falken AT3 265/70/17. Big thanks to MJ Motorsports up in Waipahu, HI for the good deal, install, and TPMS swap.

First wash too. Sorry for the dark pics.

Going to order the Rough Country neoprene seat covers and some Bilstein 5100s for up front next. Will install the 5100s on the 3rd setting for a nice level.

$29.99 Costco wetsuit seat covers! Not a perfect fit, but I'm happy with them. Just need my seat covers to protect the seats from all the water/sand/dirt they'll see. I was going to buy the Rough Country versions, but these will do. Saved money for better things/mods.

I picked up my plates today and got a set of the Toyota door sill covers for an access cab. I'll install this week. Also ordered an off brand hard tri-flip tonneau cover from Amazon. I did not want to dump a grand or two for the fancy expensive ones people have here. I'll post it up when she comes in.

I skipped the Android auto wireless adapter for a 90 degree short USB C cable.

I think this is turning into a budget build :D

Front 5100's to level the front coming up next. I think.

Howzit! Love the color. If I didn't get Lunar Rock, Blue Crush would have been my next choice.

Lunar rock was my first choice! Almost picked up an AC OR earlier last year from the dealer in town. I put it off, wasn't ready. I had to come check this one out at the dealer a few times because the blue was a bit too much for me at first. But, it grew on me and I bought it. Very happy with it now.

I do love lunar rock color. More my style. But Servco only had left over '23s in black or white AC w/ 4x4 left over, or on the way over.

Not much going on with the Tacoma. Got her broken in so I can start towing the boat!

No name Amazon tonneau cover installed! Can finally store dive gear and boat stuff in the truck. Been waiting on this thing to show up for a while. It's the value version ($500ish) so its not a flush fit. No care, just needed secure storage. I'm happy with it. I'll eventually throw a pop n' lock tailgate locker on there.

    20240329_115851.jpg

Also, I've gotten sick of not having a lifted Tacoma. Bought a pair of Billy 5100's from 4WP in Waipahu. Plan is to set to the 4th setting then add a 1" block and eventually AAL to compensate for boat weight.

I may get them installed tomorrow or next week.

5100s and 1” blocks for the rear, ready to go.

I was going to install this weekend, but found out the shop installed wheel locks when I had my new wheels/tires put on. I looked everywhere for the key. No dice. I’m gonna go back to the shop and have them removed.

Well, if you didn’t notice from the picture above I installed the spring perches upside down .

This waisted an hour of my life today. Good thing TW came through on the search. Just got one side done today after work. Will finish the other side tomorrow.

I went with the 4th setting. It looks almost level with the rear, with the front being slightly higher.

Not build related but I rented (Turo) this 2nd gen Tacoma on my work trip & mini vacation over to Kaua'i. 226k miles on the clock and still running strong! 4.0 and 3.5 are very different motors.
    5 speed m/t on her too:burnrubber:

I'll be cruising around the island with her for the next several days. I can only hope my 3rd gen will last this long, if not longer.
