i just got the booster, master cylinder and the swap kit, i have on ly one question how did you conect the lines, are the front and rear lines in the tacoma the same as the new master cylinder, the first line near to the booster in the gm its for the front wheel and the other one fpr the rear line, and i have some daughts about if the tacoma distribution its the same, i read they work in the opositive near the booster for the rear line and the other one for the front line.

    Thanks

The rear connection on the master cylinder, closest to the firewall, is for the front brakes. That should be the same for the stock master as well.

If you hook everything up and get really strong rear brakes that lock up before the fronts you'll know you have the lines swapped.

The kits are in stock and will ship Saturday morning. Thank you for the order.

@SMKYTXN on the fitting for the brake lines going into the MC, should the line be inverted flare or bubble flared?

    They're a standard inverted flare.

What is the purpose of the 'Plunger Adapter' in this kit? I am halfway done with putting this on my truck (booster mounted and connected to clevis and pedal) but I am having difficulty figuring out step 6B in the instructions. It says to make sure the aluminum adapter touches the Tundra plunger and the 'seat' of the MC. The adapter doesn't fit by any means, there is a small indention hole where it can touch the tip of the booster rod/plunger, but it certainly doesn't fit that well, and the moment I let go of it with my hand to focus on mounting the MC, it will most likely try to fall out and drop to the ground.....would have love to see this indention cutout of the adapter for the plunger tip to be about an inch deeper so the adapter could rest on it much easier. Is the 'seat' of the master cylinder just a fancy name for the opening of the MC?

Also, I thought this kit was complete, but I don't see my brake lines connecting to this kit without buying some additional items from my local auto parts store. My brake lines connect on the OTHER side of the MC, not on the side pictured, so I'm sure I will have to come up with some extension lines to run underneath it like the picture in the beginning of this thread - hopefully the auto parts store has all of that. The tube nuts I haven't figured out yet either, no way my lines are connecting to them as they are in my engine bay right now......and the nuts are different sizes too where as my lines that I disconnected off of my MC appear to be the same size.

Wish me luck, hope my auto parts store guys can help me out if I take them phone pictures of what I have got left to do......

Never mind, this kit will not work with my Tacoma, completely anyway. The GM master cylinder is not going to fit unless I do something with my fuse box (not shown in the thread pic installed in the engine bay on page 1 of this thread - did he remove his?). This kit has 3/16 inch tube nuts which won't work with my stock 1/4 inch brake lines. It's just been one mess after another trying to get this to work, 5 different trips to different auto parts stores today. The booster kit parts definitely fit.....I will see about getting a Sequoia or Tundra MC tomorrow and finally getting everything done as planned, just will not use the plunger adapter since the original Tundra Booster I bought should mate up find with a Tundra MC. But warning, if you have a 2009 Tacoma TRD Sport like me, with 1/4-inch hard brake lines, and a fuse box on the drivers side of your engine bay, the GM master cylinder will NOT fit, it is just about about 2 inches too long!

I need this for my 07 Taco. Does anybody how long the whole assembly is off the firewall? I have shock hoops for my coil overs. Not much room left...

What are the two plug ins on the tundra booster for and the extension rod is to long for the set up. We left it out and the rod is 1/4in short but touches once pushed. Confused to that. Advice

There are variations in pushrod length throughout the years, some modification is assumed.

1/4" of play? That pedal is going to feel like shit

1/4 or less of a gap between the push rod and the pedal. Before it touches the MC. So as soon as you engage the pedal slowly you can hear the push rod touch the MC. It’s barely noticeable unless you’re gonna get a white lab coat on. That is the brake pedal-tundra booster-gm one ton. Using the parts as is hooked up.

Going to feel like shit like mentioned above with your method. Bolt your stock master to your booster and see the difference.

Defeats the point of the mod. If I put the oem mc back then I also would be putting the oem booster back. The pedal feels fine to me. Feels like a brake pedal
