Yeah they are just to small for what we needed. We bought a horizon and have been full timing it since April. The truck pulls it great for the most part.

@surfxplore99 and @Northbound_Taco, any long term reports/feedback on your Sol Horizons?
    How has suspension performed?
Craziest place you've taken it? (Would you again?)
    Any axle/weld issues?
    Overall capability for bike/surf/remote camping?
    Changes/mods you'd make?
    How's towing w/ 3rd gen taco been?

    Thanks!!

Hey Jeff, I really liked the trailer but we ended up selling for a couple of reasons.
One of those reasons being that I just wasn't comfortable towing it with the Tacoma. It did the job and I wasn't worried about the truck, I just wasn't thrilled with the power the Tacoma had towing this thing and maybe it's just me with towing in general.

At the time of selling it last spring, I was almost about to buy a Tundra and at the same time I had the trailer listed. I gave myself about 6 weeks to sell it or buy a new truck. Then, a local buyer came around. I sold it and kept the Tacoma. Still kinda wish I was "forced" into buying a used Tundra. haha ...

While I do like many of the features and design of the Horizon - like that window/view if you're parked somewhere epic, the indoor/outdoor shower options, the outdoor kitchen set up, etc. The quality inside and out, seemed really great. But like with anything there's always trade offs. Like with that window - it's just not very aerodynamic.

I towed it up one trail road and it was fine, but while it did have aggressive tires, the suspension isn't really meant for off roading and I wouldn't go anywhere sketchy with it. The axles didn't have any issues that I could tell, but long term I can't speak to that.

Smooth fire roads might be fine, but tight corners and uneven terrain it's just too wide and awkwardly shaped for that type of off road travel. I've been on washboard roads in Cabo MX many, many years ago and I can't imagine this thing being towed on a road like that. It would rattle the hell out of it and all your gear inside. Same with sand - I drive my truck on the beaches here in NJ and wouldn't haul this onto soft sand where you're airing down.

We have two kids and breaking down the kitchenette for their bed everyday became a hassle and we saw that as a negative in the long run b/c it just wouldn't work as their getting older/bigger.

It was easier to unload the trailer when I had a willing buyer and not take a huge hit $.

We ended up using my in-laws Sylvan Sport Go last summer a couple of times and that worked cool for us and am thinking about using that more along with a RTT for my son as he gets older and/or a regular ground tent even. https://www.sylvansport.com/go-camping-trailer/ The Go is cool too b/c it can haul our mountain bikes and some gear too.

I think the Horizon can be great for the right couple or small family, and it depends on what you really want and need out of a camper/RV.
Hope this helps. good luck in your search for a camper.
