A review of Pele Prints: Cowl Intake (Snorkel) Kits and HVAC Screens:

    - This is a well put together and complete kit for both blocking off the cabin air filter from mice/chipmunks getting in, and for also essentially adding a better flowing "cold air intake" than the stock design. I went with the full kit which includes the cabin air filter cover, the two side covers, and the "cold air intake"
    - All the printing and hardware is good quality, as one would expect.
    - I was drawn to this product because the simple mesh over the cabin air filter opening under the hood cowl always looked cheesy and cheap to me. It appears there was supposed to be something there from the factory to cover the huge gaping hole, and this kit perfectly fits that spot. Every year I go to change my cabin air filter there is always so much debris and acorns in there from the mice/chipmunks it just gets ridiculous and seems like such a huge oversight from Toyota. Last time I went to change my engine air filter, the mice/chipmunks actually started eating away at that filter which made me pretty concerned. I accidentally stumbled upon the kit and I am glad I did, it's a great solution to this problem.
    - You do have to hole saw into your cowl firewall to install the intake portion of the kit, so if you are not comfortable doing that you can just get the cabin air filter cover. On the drivers side, side mesh piece, I could only get enough clearance on my drill to send one of the self tappers through instead of the 3 included, but it holds perfectly fine and doesn't move around at all.
    - An added bonus of getting the intake portion of the kit is that it sounds great. It adds a pretty throaty tone to the engine which is noticeable if you are running normal street tires like myself. It is louder when cruising on the highway at 70-75, but it is not annoying or droning, just louder. If you run aggressive A/T tires you might not notice the change in intake noise. With my truck being a manual 6speed, I would say the added sound makes it more fun to drive.
    - Personally I do not offroad my tacoma, I mainly use it for work, but I definitely see the value for offroader types to ditch the stock intake and go with this.
    - I would recommend this kit for every 2nd gen owner.

Thank you very much for your kind words and honest review Ryan! Much appreciated. This is what helps grow my small business.
Would you perhaps have any pictures of the the install?

    Cheers,

Hey, just found your kits, they look great. Do you have any plans for a 4cyl version? would it be reasonable condsidering the different configuration in comparison to the V6? I currently have some bent over mesh for the critter hole, definitely a lack complete execution on Toyotas part, they seemingly intended to have something there. Your solution is awesome, nice work and thanks for being in business.

Installed my Pele Prints HVAC screen and cover kit.

My issue had been going through a car wash and water entering the HVAC intake and wetting the cabin filter and water dripping onto passenger floor. Didn't have that issue until they rebuilt the car wash and installed different dryer blowers.

Pele Prints screen with cover solved my problem.

Excellent customer service when ordering, clear installation instructions. Dan was a pleasure to order from.
    Highly recommended.

My friends that have his cowl intake are also quite pleased.
