    What? No.
I already have a use for them, lol.
The relatives already get pickles (dill and bread & butter), jalapeno jelly, dilly beans, tomato/pasta sauce, pickled garlic, chicken & turkey soup stock, and various jams/jellies for Christmas. They're not missing out.

Had my first garden as an adult this summer but I don't have any photo. Grew lupin, echinaca, some pansies (I think, they were left from the previous owners), peas, carrots, beets. Planning on doing a sheltered structure for my veggies next year as there are a lot of stray cats in the neighbourhood. 4 walls, roof and door all made out of chicken wire, roof made of a fairly coarse mesh. Gotta get the city to trap the cats too.

I’ve called the county animal catcher 4 times now. I’m getting tired of the piles of cat crap in my raised beds and mulch. I’ve sprinkled cayenne pepper, chili powder, etc. but you have to reapply after it rains. I’ve also been looking at airsoft pistols to hopefully run them off for good.

We trap them here, our town is full of Ferrell cats and my old neighbors keep feeding them, city won’t do anything  So now I trap them and drive them up north 20 miles and release them into a field with coyotes

I’ve thought about trapping them, I just don’t want to catch a skunk!

I've caught them a few times, haven't gotten sprayed yet. They're usually pretty hesitant to spray when they're in an enclosed space; just moving very slowly and not making eye contact has been enough to keep me spray-free so far.

Two of our neighbors let their dogs run free, and they always find my yard to do their business in. Walked out this afternoon to find this on the driveway. This is not the first time, nor the worst time, but it’s getting close to being the last time.

My city is pretty pro-active about trapping animals, they'll provide a trap and removal of the animal for a $20 trap deposit to cover the wholesale price of a trap if it gets broken for some reason. Probably going to do that some time in the new year so I can avoid kitten season.

As mentioned, trapping is probably best. I don’t recommend relocation unless it is to a landfill.
If you have any thought a skunk is in the area, put the trap in a plastic garbage bag, open end obviously to the opening. Wrap the open end of the bag back 3/4 of the way on the trap, and tuck it under the trap. It won’t keep you from catching the cats, and if you catch a skunk, just approach from behind, wrap the bag forward, and proceed from there. I don’t recommend relocation of them either as it is a threat for spreading rabies.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Just wondering if you folks have any thoughts... They appear to be digging under my barn slab, and I'm not even sure who they are. No dirt piles around the entrances. I have a dog so poisoning is out. I have used her feces to fill the hole, but "they" don't seem to care. Sorry for the crappy pics, it was getting dark.2020-01-09 17.20.26.jpg 2020-01-09 17.20.22.jpg 2020-01-09 17.20.12.jpg

Sort of hard to tell without anything for scale but the hole looks fairly small? My guess would be moles/voles; they dig around the foundations looking for bugs that are overwintering against the concrete (the thermal mass helps them survive temperature swings).

Has anyone ever used one of these? We couldn’t play on the deck today because of the cat crap smell. And the porch had the same smell around it. One of the raised beds on the back had at least 3 piles in it. I’m trying to be as nice as possible before the drastic measures are brought out.

Lay some chicken wire down flat on the ground where they have been digging. Stake it down so it will stay put and the digging will stop. In the spring if you want to make it more permanent cover it with a few inches of dirt to hide it. It will eventually rust away, but it will Las longer than you would think.

Don’t want my kid getting tripped up in it, want the neighbors animals to stay out. But thanks for the suggestion!

Well if the ground isn’t frozen you could put it under a few inches of dirt now. No one would trip, heck other than some exposed dirt you wouldn’t even know it’s there.
