D + ECT button doesn’t do anything in 2.0 beta. ECT functionality will supposedly be restored in 2.0 final

Not 100% correct. Ect on in drive is still gear lock, but will allow it to upshift but not downshift unless it drop below a certain rpm.

gear lock means it stays in the gear selected.... unless it needs to.

Gearlock: by ECT BUTTON(do not use if you do not understand how our gearlock implementation works!. It is by ECT button, so that means if you press in "D mode" it will not downshift!)

I broke my arm about 2 weeks ago, and as result it's shifted my schedule.

    Also:
Our next batch of cables are finally en route and I can email ok now so while we are still closed/delayed for the holidays, I'm going to be working on updating as much as possible from today.
If you have a pending ticket and are waiting for a response, you do not have to send another ticket.

    Thanks.

And thank you everyone for everything and understanding.
I have enough mobility back now that I should be back to normal emailing by the 6th.

I will say I think the dislocation did far worse with limiting than the numerous fracture.

This is unacceptable, who gave you permission to break your arm? You you hundreds, if not thousands of customers waiting patiently to have 'more fun' driving their Gen 3 tacomas! We check every morning and evening for this tune to drop! lol Kidding of course. Hope it heals soon.

Soooo I finally did the tune to my truck§ dongle kit. I have had the kit for sometime..like 6 plus months but I was paying for bumpers and what not and since I had done TSB updates to the truck I didn't complain as I knew I was coming from a V8 to a V6 sooooo.

Anyways..I loaded 1.05.1 yesterday in the truck..took me a little bit but realized that I didn't have the cable drivers loaded so when i was using the PCM flash it would not recognize the connection. Took the taco out for about a 12 mile drive..nothing crazy but I could def feel the difference on how it drove.

Now to ask the question...what is the difference between the loads...I am assuming that if you want the most out of it you need to do 91 per load? I just did the 87 per load and was rather impressed based on what the truck did normally.

I see that 2.0 is really close to being done and maybe i will move to that as I normally use 89 octane to fuel with§ what are the major changes for this tune?

I am still reading on page 2714 and playing catch up...was much further back and found no value...so fast forward like xxxx many pages to get some relevant information.

    Any input would be great

apologize for the ..... keyboard is flaking out and waiting for a new one.

87 tunes are better than stock. 91 is better than 87. You have to decide if the extra fuel cost is worth it. The additional refinement and power from 91 is not worth adding 25-30% to my fuel budget. (I'd rather use that money to move my retirement up!)

I have seen only a few people who prefer 1.05/1.05.1 over 2.0 betas.

Appreciate the input..I loaded 1.05.1 without knowing which one to use.

For a long time I did the 91 in preparation for this but I have since backed off of it.

1.05.1 is specifically for those experiencing "stutter" issues. My understanding is that Mat addressed the stutter by allowing the torque converter to slip a bit more under certain loads in 1.05.1 vs. 1.05. That may be over simplifying things.

That is correct. You should only install version 1.05.1 if you are/were experiencing stuttering issues with 1.05.

Sent the system info back to OVT and received the email within 10 minutes. I downloaded the suggested 2.0 beta tune and flashed it, everything went smooth as butter.

Subtle change driving under 45-50 mph, but it really comes alive if you step on it.
