Share your heavy music and talk about whatever..local legends...your own band. Stoner Rock, Fuzz, Doom, Sludge, Speed, Thrash, Death metal, Black Metal, experimental Metal, all the "cores" kinda metal, you know where I'm going with the absurd sub-genre metal nightmare. BS about metal movies or whatever.

I like the idea of this thread. I'm more old school metal but I like knowing the newer stuff out there.

I've got my Sirius channels programmed to Ozzy's bone yard, liquid metal, hair band metal, and the other metal channels.

One of my favorite CD's that I made for driving has Slip Knot, Pantera, Kill Switch Engage and a little old school Judas Priest.

Nice. Yeah I'm technically old school too. I've been a lifelong metalhead and I'm 36...so I'm not super old, but I saw ozzy in 1995 and that was it..Zack Wylde head banging was Epic. Grew up on Pantera too and I've met Phil several times..met Dime once. Saw 6-7 pantera shows. Slayer probably 20 times now..but I got kids so I go to fewer and fewer shows.. I was just hoping for a bs thread with some metal references and band talk sorta stuff.

Cool thread. I've been listening to a lot of High on Fire and Slough Feg lately. Also gonna go see Sleep play with Melvins on Saturday.

Nice! I'm obviously a high on fire fan! I've seen Sleep a few times too. They printed a vinyl of the show I was at too "live in Denver". Melvins rule too. They play Fort Collins almost every year at this point...I've never heard of Slough Feg. I'll check it out

Fonda Theater in Hollywood. I normally steer clear of that area, but make exceptions now and then.

They remind of this band..they don't seem to take them selves too serious either

Haha, yeah I agree. Mike Scalzi is a madman on stage, also philosophy professor somewhere from what I've read. I saw them open for another band once and the headliners were pretty lame by comparison.

A little more on the stoner spectrum. Graphics are a little cheesy, the band is anything but.

Dude thank you for making this thread! I hope it takes off, I've really been wanting to discuss old/new music and post new tracks as they come up.

I grew up on punk & rock, eventually found my way into hardcore and that's pretty much where I remain. I do listen to a bit of deathcore and slam as well.

Anyway, I've been digging Knocked Loose's new album 'Laugh Tracks' quite a bit. Trap Them's new album 'Crown Feral' has been in the speakers a lot, too.

two bands i've been wayyyy into lately.

Seven Sisters of Sleep. probably stoner/ doom end of the spectrum, but has blastbeats and death metal growls too.

Birds in Row. defintely more on the hardcore end of things, but still in the metal umbrella IMO.

and for a shameless plug, this is my band. hard rock, bordering on metal.
