Engine running fuel pressure should be 41 psi +/- 1 psi

NVM - 4cyl i dont believe have a fuel pump resistor.

Though they might have a relay, check that.

Filter is in the pump unit which is in the tank.

Fuel pump does not prime at key on, it only runs during cranking and once the engine has started.

Are you sure it has fuel in it? Being empty with the gauge showing 1/4 tank or more is relatively common.

Should be enough to tell you if it's gona run or not, I wouldn't worry about putting any additives in it.

Pretty common for the sending unit to get skewed with age.

Yep,the float has its mood "swings" ,lol,-today I drive it an its at 33% full then next start up,a hour later, 52%.....Maybe the MMO an any left over seafoam may be unstickimg the float, but im not sure...Does it get more erradict or fluctuate more as its failing ,on float- guage ?

IMO, use an Ultragauge and fill the tank. Keep track of your tank content that way and periodically look at the dash gauge as well.

If it's just the needle, I wouldn't bother pulling it all apart.

I wouldn't run it down to nothing but it's pretty close to accurate providing you set it up properly.

21 gallon tank. I surmise you get around 20mpg, at least that's what my 2010 2WD is pulling.

2nd gens don't report fuel level on OBD so a scan tool won't help you watch it.
An untragauge/scangauge calculates fuel usage and DTE pretty close if you "train" it right.

This..if you set it up properly it's close enough for what OP is trying to do, and certainly a cheaper option than tearing things apart at least in the initial going.
