    Hey, yall.

I’ve seen a few videos, topics, around rattle in this exact location. However, I’ve yet to find a fix, as everyone seems to have a differing opinion lol.

So, I was just curious.. is it is simple as removing the panel and tightening something? Warped plastic? I’ve even heard felt tape applied can help?

Just curious if someone had a better solution before I go all redneck on it :p

Never thought it would bother me… until I just finished a 10 hour road trip. Now it must go lol.

    thanks for any advice.

Interior rattles are kind of very flexible in how they are dealt with.

Once you isolate the exact cause of the noise you may find a fix in loosening then retightening fasteners, felt tape in selective spot(s), felt tape over retaining clips or around them or repositioning things.

I've never had that noise so I can't speak to what I would do personally as I don't know what interaction of parts is causing the noise.

Trial and error is really all you can do with interior noises, rarely is there a one size fits all solution. Good luck.

Thanks. I’ve seen about 10 reports of this exact noise in this exact location, specifically the A-piller / corner where the ambient light sensor is. I’m just curious if there was a “definitive fix”

As some claim do X and others claim do Y. I’m certain a small tear down, observation, and maybe a little redneck ingenuity will be my friend in this situation. However, no point to do more when you can work smarter if there was already a solution to be had haha. However, I do understand these rattles can be similar while being totally different.. sadly.

Makes sense and all I can say about rattles is that despite becoming proficient with finding and repairing them, I don't miss being an apprentice when that was the majority of my days

I had annoying rattle near piller molding and speaker that I was finally able to track down a few years back. Try shoving a few tooth picks in there to see if that’s the location and the noise stops. If so, then you can do what I did. I removed the tooth picks and wedged a folded piece of electrical tape in the gap and noise has not come back. On another note based on my experience, nothing against those girls driving or riding in Tacomas. If your wife or significant other rides as passenger, leftover coins, hair clips, breath mints, etc. end up in places that also cause similar noises. I tried to run a noise down for many weeks. It was a pill bottle with loose change that somehow ended up in my glovebox.

Will give that a shot. If you get a moment, could to snap a photo of where you inserted your tape?

I inserted a few toothpicks in crack along speaker housing edge until sure I stopped noise, and then replaced with few very small pieces tape wedged into crack. Can’t see them as shoved down below crack. I don’t remember actual locations. I’ve seen other threads here where some folks simply removed speaker cover and reinstalled and noise went away.

    stock a fawk!
Mine does that near the radio. When I press on the plastic bezel that surrounds the screen. It stops. But truth be told I always have music in so I never really notice it.

Consider yourself lucky since it’s in a spot that is easily accessible. There’s something rattling above my headliner… Passenger side track of the sunroof I suspect.
Waiting until I get annoyed enough to drop the liner, but not looking forward to it
