We took my sons 2014 Ford focus in and same thing happened so I asked the guy and he said anything after 2012 they don't actually check emissions just gas cap an Obd2. That seemed crazy to me because they didn't check for cats or pop the hood like they used to. He has a 1992 S13 with an SR20 det swap and I'm trying to figure out how to get registered but with them doing that it might just pass.

Wasn't there a thread about ECU's getting scanned and failed for tuned Tacos?

Had my sticker in the glove box - no way I am going to attach - they can look at it if they ask, or look it up on the Magnuson web page for EO number. They did not ask - only as said hooked up the OBD and did a read and told me to pay up and move along.

The emissions stations are under the impression that ALL Toyota trucks are full time 4 wheel drive if they do not have manual hubs, and therefore, they are roller exempt. My 1st gen did the roller every time, it had manual hubs, that were always locked in.
At some point someone had their truck in 4x4, hit the rollers and prolly shot right thru the bay door. Or at least drove over the front wheel chock.

    Yep…
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tune-and-failed-emissions-testing-experience.818248/

Tl;dr - the turd gen CVC (checksum) of the ECU was compared to what it should have been from Toyota and it wasn’t because of a tune. They failed. The fix was to flash back to “stock” Toyota tune and redo the test.

Overland Tailor Tuning (OTT) has a tune pending CARB approval through some SEMA path and they are just waiting for the approval. There is no work left to be done as far as they know. It could be weeks or months. With this tune you would not have to flash back to stock before an emissions test.

That'll be an issue for me with my turd gen since I'm supercharged and don't have a carb sticker from Maggy

You should be able to request a sticker and/or find the CARB document with registration ID on their site.

I would print this out and take it with you. As for the tune, you’ll probably want to flash back to stock to not be failed on the OBDII scan. https://arb.parts/Executive-Order/D-488-59

yeaaa until they start popping hoods again the carb sticker for parts is less urgent than the OBD2 check lol

That is pretty nice I wish this one had a black top in it but at least it has an SR20 in it.

One day I hope to get back into a turbo Nissan. This was a super nice build. Manual swapped, 5 lug with LSD, had AC, all sorts of JDM goodies heads up display etc .... There was an importer in Atlanta that I got the front clip from and they were very picky about what they brought in

    That's so nice.
I swapped an rb20 in mine. Had such an awful time doing it that once it ran I sold it. Oh to be a broke 21yearold college kid again.

Super clean. I've kinda been itching for a toy car again. This economy doesn't support my desires though.

    Also.
@alee891 sko avs baby. Georgiev does seem to be back on the A game.
