True not false or a made-up story. I recently flashed BH 2.0 AT 04B04 to my daughters' truck which was running a 4-year-old non-YotaWerx Tune. Today I caught up with my daughter and asked her how the "Tune" was working out. She said "well the kids wanted to know if Grandpa converted the truck to EV" (their grandmother has an EV and they know what the power, acceleration and torque in those feels like). She just laughed because the low-end torque, power, and feel made the kids think they were in Grandma's EV! Still laughing about the un-filtered things kids say!

The new version did not impress me.
It does not perform well on 87 compare to kdmax.
Kdmax can hold kclv between 23-24 easily, bh2.0 WW is barely staying above 21.

In 6th under moderate load, knock is living in -5 and below.
3rd gear torque converter management needs attention. Truck falls on its face rolling onto the ramp and accelerating. Asked to turn locking off on my files. Trottle limits are not smooth in lower gear, but better that previous versions.
    Tip in is good.
Suspect mpgs will be 1-2 below kdmax.

Respectfully, this is not entirely relevant to current files, since you're reviewing out of date files.

To add some context to this, BH2.0 6AT is no longer relevant in any capacity, while BH2.1 is, and is in final file.buikding processes.

Ok. I got these files in February 2024. Are there a new release since February?

Sort of. We ended up committing to a deep dive and basically said okay, if we're going to be in here fixing the actual issue with BH2.0, we may as well incorporate some adjustments based on some of the feedback from it as well.

You're not driving on anything even remotely current as a result of that, which is getting its announcement here soon.

Wow. I wasted all this time...
Make sure tunes are tested by someone with some knowledge, not by butt dyno crowd.

Edit: Guessing the updates are for the AT folks who had some issues early on.

Not what my "dealer" said. The issue only affected a specific ecu calibration ID.
Who even owns this BH should just kill it like Ford does.

I’ve been a guinea pig with my truck trying a variety of the recent releases (ecu 04C21) and a lot of up and downs, kind of expected. I actually liked the beta release months back more than some of the current releases. While it is a very powerful tune IMO, could still use a fair bit of refinement. It’s very touchy, esp when you have to accelerate and then release off throttle. Truck will buck a bit. The power is definitely there, just needs to be smoothed out. Just give them a chance to dial things in. Sometimes y’all are getting way too critical and are expecting way too much too soon.

Good afternoon from the YotaWerx Tuning Team.

Following the recent release of YotaWerx “Blackhawk 2.0” for the 3GTacoma 3.5L, we became aware of an issue with the calibration for the 6AT files. At this time, this issue has already been addressed with VFTuner, which entailed the changing of values within various tables on their own. This is something we first encountered with alternator output tables when applying AGM-profile adjustments.

Initially, we encountered issues that we determined to be limited to the 04C21 ECU ID (2021-23MY 6AT), and not present at a 100% rate of occurrence. We assumed the source of the issue lay with ourselves and began to work accordingly towards a solution. As time passed, the same issues were discovered on older ECU IDs, albeit at a significantly lower rate of occurrence. In the ensuing testing and investigations, we encountered evidence of VFTuner software modifying tables on its own (again, this is already addressed and no longer present in VFTuner). We also identified the extent of where these issues were presenting.

At this point, the tune was already broken down in several ways which granted the opportunity to offer a superior calibration option with effective and consistent power delivery, without losing out on the impressive power benefits displayed by the initial 2.0 release. This included multiple dyno sessions along with extensive road testing amongst partners and independent testers for evaluation of drivability and reliability.

On 20 April 2024, we got on the dyno with a 2022MY 3GTacoma 3.5L 6AT for final adjustments to the Tacoma 3.5L “Blackhawk 2.1” tune.

Like its predecessor, these BH2.1 numbers below were measured at the hub rather than the wheel, and all posted dynographs include relevant details regarding ambient conditions and other variables. Most notably, these runs were all conducted with 91-octane and in 4th gear for a true 1:1 gear ratio. Due to using a hub-dyno, the vehicle’s tire size is removed as a variable.

This dynograph serves to display a comparison of Blackhawk 2.0 vs 2.1, demonstrating that we successfully achieved our goal of not compromising with a loss of the desired power that this calibration is well known for.

YotaWerx Tuning extends our gratitude and appreciation to VFTuner for the dedicated support and technology available to us, making it feasible to provide a superb example of using VFTuner tuning software to bring excellence in tuning on this platform to the community.

    Thanks for the updates!

I just want to take a minute to say thanks for the updates that Kevin has been sending while you all have been "refactoring" a bit.

Do we need to specifically request an update or should we just wait a bit for you all to provide new tunes for us?

    Again, thanks.

Will the new tune files be available for an update via a Yotawerx network tuner now or at a later date ? Also assuming WW and AD still an option too ?

WW/AD remain of course, and yes, the files are available via the network.

due to the project being on hold for a few months now while addressing the recent NA calibration needs and some other project launches

the Stryker 3GTacoma project is currently scheduled to resume when @Kevinpd325 returns from vacation on Monday.
