anyone tried both? Price is essentially the same so I was leaning towards the Michelins. 95% of my driving is highway, but I do some 4WD low so I don't want a duplicate of the factory Dunlops. And I did search, and both get good reviews. TIA.

The Yokohamas should be quite a bit less than the Michelins. I tried 2 sets of the Yokohamas and didn't care for them. The Michelins get good reviews and last a while.

Is this seriously a question ? (j/k). I work in the service department of a Toyota dealership and see the good and bad of all kinds of tires on a daily basis. I would choose the Michelin LTX any day of the week over the Yokohama Geolandar. The Yokohama is not a bad tire at all. In fact, just the opposite. It is a very good tire, however, IMO, the Michelin LTX M/S 2 is by far the best truck/SUV tire money can buy. I have them on my 2012 Tacoma 4WD and would not even consider having anything else. The ride quality is great. They are quiet and the mileage you get from them is better than anything I have seen from any truck/SUV tire in over 20 years in the business. But as I said earlier, that is just my opinion.

Micheline LTX AT2 all the way. They are one of the MOST expensive AT's I've seen, but they also last the longest, pushing past 70,000 miles on a set (when properly taken care of). I've read nothing but good reviews on LTX AT2.

I wanted them, but they were wayyy of my budget. They're like $240/tire.

When Ford replaced my Firestones with Michelin LTXs, they were the biggest pieces of shit I'd ever had the displeasure of owning. When there was just enough snow to almost cover the roads, I couldn't make it up a 2% grade. Fine in dry weather, but I run through so much as a puddle of chipmunk sweat, I broke traction. Maybe the A/T 2s are better, but there'll never be another Michelins on any truck I own.

If you drive on gravel at all the Michelin AT/2 will pick up a lot of the smaller bits in the tread. You will hear the gravel ticking when you get back on pavement and of course they fling out of the tread at highway speed.

I know all offroad tires will do this but the AT/2 tread seems to pick up more than the average tire, just an observation.

I'll take Michelin's any day. Tried to get the dealer to put Michelin's put on my Tacoma 2008(used) because they were worn down when I bought it. They refused and put Bridgestone's on instead. Yuck! Bridgestone's are noisy as Dickens! My wife has Yoko's on her Pilot which have done well.

I just put a set of Cooper Discovery AT/3 on my truck and love them! Better than stock. I was always a Firestone guy until now. Plus, I got a helluva deal.

I had AT2s on my last truck. They are good tires but horrible for picking up small pieces of gravel. I had aftermarket wheels that stuck out a little bit which led to a lot of road rash. Something to keep in mind.
