We are sorry to learn of this issue, and that our store was unable to offer a resolution. PM on the way

Although our stores are sometimes able to do some neat things for our customers it varies situation to situation. Thank you for your business and support. It sounds like you have had the benefit of using our certificate program, we agree it is an awesome coverage to have. As far as the mileage warranty, this wouldn't apply to this situation as a mileage warranty is offer by the manufacturer in the event a tire does not reach a specific mileage set by the manufacturer, being a Mud tire the Yokohama does not offer any mileage warranty.

Here's what Yokohama sent me back

"The Yokohama Standard Limited Warranty covers tires displaying a warrantable condition for 60 months from the date of tire purchase (proof required) or 72 months from the date manufacture (if no proof of purchase available), whichever comes first. This policy is not a warranty that your tire will not wear out, fail, or become unserviceable if neglected or mistreated.

If eligible for mileage warranty the mileage at time of original installation and proof of tire rotations are required. If not presented will not receive a mileage adjustment.

Please contact your dealer of purchase to address the mileage proration.

    Sincerely,
    Consumer Affairs"

Anyone know what a mileage proration is?

Why dont you swap that tire with the tire on your spare? Assuming it is the same tire.

They would reimburse a percentage of the tire cost based on mileage. Since the MT's have no mileage warranty (I think), you wouldn't be eligible.

One disturbing thing in that letter.. "...Proof of rotations are required."

How the fuck would I prove that? Aside from using the dealer, of course. Should I videotape myself rotating my tires every 2-3 months?

everyone seems to think your truck is going to explode that tire on the HWY and kill you and your whole family… I’m not sure that will happen with a tread slice like that, in fact I think a sidewall tear from off-roading is far more dangerous to causing a catastrophic accident and unfortunately cuts, knicks chunks and all kinds of aggressive wear is simply “part of living with off-roading” for the most part. I’m not sure it’s avoidable TO A DEGREE. it depends on how hard you wheel and in what environment and just the overall tire composition. This will make you feel a little better. It’s a shoulder slice I noticed the other day on my VERY cupped/clapped out milestars that barely have 10k miles on them. Cupping like mad even with rotation every 5k. I’m hard On them. Milestars actually sent me a free goodwill replacement for this specific slice. Funny you shared that because I’m specifically looking to replace my milestars with these Yokohama’s

I’m not trying to encourage you to drive with unsafe tires for you or your family, I’m just sharing my experience and how MANY aspects of our truck modifications and offroad uses can pose a risk to us

Yeah, i'm not too worried about it. I figured though that it was worthwhile to see what options would be available either via Discount or Yokohama but at the end of the day i'm not going to lose any sleep over it

Its not so much the tread lug crack as it is the groove bottom crack. There is usually not much material between the groove bottom and the steel belts and when steel gets exposed to water you get rust which can lead to a possible tread seperation. Do I think what NWTacoTime has is going to blow up on him.... No but I also dont think that he should let it get to the point of having another problem.

I finally got mine put on this past weekend. For an aggressive tire, it's really quiet. Drove home in the rain and they grip very well on the wet roads and don't wander when you hit a puddle. I'm extremely pleased with the 100 miles I've put on them so far!

I think it’s going to depend on your wheel offset but there’s a 90% chance you’re going to need a cab mount chop. I rubbed hard until I got it done.

They are heavy though, I noticed a gas mileage hit as soon as I put them on. Now my truck really feels like a slug. I need a tune soon...

I bet, when I went to KM3s with a much heavier tire than my previous skinnies, I could tell a big difference.
I am now on 5.29s with a Tune. Truck is very quick now, people have commented on how responsive it feels. However my pinion is starting to whine, so I gotta go back and reset my backlash.
Once I put the Deaver stage 3 in there the angles changes up a good bit.

Nice! I have 295/70/17 and love them!

They are, but they lighter than some of the others I looked at. I can still get 18-20 MPG if I keep around 55-60 MPH.

18-20? I was getting that in my bone stock truck. I'm getting more like 15-16 mpg now.
