Hello everyone, I’m looking to change out my tires on my 22 taco. They came with the Firestone destination tires. I’ve looked into the Yokohama geolandar G015 tires and I like the 60k mile warranty they have. Mind you I do not do any off roading, maybe very light off roading once or twice a year.

Main travel is city and highway. Looking to keep the same tire size I have now (245/75/R16). Looking for that more aggressive look with AT tires and with hopes of not losing so much MPG.

Anyone have experience with these tires? Or any other recommendations. Much appreciated!

They are a very mild AT tire. I recommend it when people want a 4 season all terrain that won't be noisy. It's a good choice. They can be quite a lot more money than other tires in their class though.

I have them on my Tacoma and have been using them on my Jeep for the last 10 years. I find them to be a great tire for my needs. Excellent in the snow, great on dirt roads, smooth and quiet on the highway.

that tire is a great choice for your needs. i would not look any further.

i had them on a full-size truck and liked them a lot. i would buy again. the traction, durability and smooth ride stand out. if i recall i ran them for more than 40K miles on a 3/4 ton pickup before replacing them.

at the time i purchased them the tread on the P rated tire was slightly different and less aggressive than the LT rated sizes.

I had a set before on my 3rd gen back in 2016. Great on road tire. Was quiet, and had good road feel. Never tried off road.

If you want a similar miles AT tire that is newer, take a look at the bfg trail terrain. Probably the quietest tire I've ever ran, and compares well with the Michelin Defender LTX MS - which IMO one of the best on road tires you can run on the tacoma.

I ran them on my RAV4. I liked them on that. GF has them on her Outback

I have put about 6k on the set I have now. I noticed about 3mpg less than the Firestone Destinations that came stock. I stayed with stock size.20220504_191828.jpg

Best light-duty AT out there. It's the tire most should actually be using they just don't look super-aggressive.

I'm impatiently waiting for the Dunlops on my wife's 4R to die so I can put these on.

I just bought my second set. Both sets have been size 265/70R16.

my driving conditions have been in upstate NY, we get all 4 seasons here, wet leaves on roads, heavy rain, sleet, freezing rain, and of course plenty of snow/ice and slush.

my first set replaced duratracs on my old Jeep Liberty, (modified with lift, TrueTracs, and 4.10 gears in both axles), the jeep was very pushy in turns (like full time AWD pushy even in 2wd) and it was extremely easy to get the rear end to kick out in anything less than ideal conditions. I had the geolandars on for about 2.5 years and they beat the pants off of the duratracs for on road daily use in everything except for deep snow, but they still did great in that too. they were way quieter and less picky about being rotated often.

I loved them so much that after 30k miles I replaced the factory goodyears on the Tacoma with the same set of tires. and they are still great. I paid about $125/tire for the first set in 2017 and about 145-150/tire for the set I bought this year.

If I ever want to wheel and need better tires I would buy a set of steelies and get good tires for off-road use on those.

TL;DR: get them, you will not be disappointed.

    Hey @Kosta2009!

I’m late to this thread, but curious if you got the Geolanders or not. I’m considering them as a replacement for my stock Goodyears after taking my 2022 for the first ski outing this season.

I ran the Geolanders on an Outback and was really happy with them in terms of snow traction, handling, and noise level. I bought those in 2018 and found it interesting when Subaru started running them stock on their trail edition outbacks.

Anyway, interested to hear how they do on a Tacoma. I’m also considering BF Goodrich K02, and another BFG All Terrain that sounds similar to the Geolander.

    Thanks!
