I got that. it's probably easier to ask him directly in the reddit comments if he is on TW o_O

even if he is on here this thread would be very easy to miss.

I just clicked hoping to learn what YOHB even means. Wait, scratch, I really don't care that much...

I assume it's some sort of reddit shorthand that probably 90% of TW members are unaware of...

lemme guess: "You on here bro?"

I was thinking the same exact thing, even guessed it right

I see more and more posts/threads posted as if a set of teenagers were texting each other.

"Lol" at the end, or middle of every statement...

    I drive a Miata.
Once had a co-worker. He was an interesting guy.

He just bought this new car, and he was trying to sell his old car. He shows up to work with a "for sale" sign plastered to the window of his new car. I asked him, James, why is there a sale sign stuck to your new car? He replies "well I usually park next to the car I'm selling, and I don't want to get tape marks on it since I just cleaned it. So I put it on this car with an arrow pointing to the one I'm selling."

The logical reasoning of some people are above me I think.

I think what's most amusing to me about this whole abbreviation thing knowing where it started, and how unnecessary it is these days.

It started with those of us who had flip phones, and you had to press a button 3 times for a single letter. So, in order to prevent it taking 3 hours to send a text message, we abbreviated.

Now we have smart phones with full qwerty keyboards, autofill, and speech to text.

I'm willing to bet that 95% of the people active on Reddit have never even seen a flip phone.

My wife has had people submit applications with some of these abbreviations. Like, FOR A JOB in a professional office environment.

Damn lazy kids and their twits and the facebooks and such. I'd yell at them to get a job, but they clearly are unable to write in full sentences, even on job applications...

And before you say it, I'm genX, #notaboomer

Too bad predictive texting, aka T9, (pretty much auto fill) was invented in 1995, before flip phones. You abbreviated then cause you were lazy also or didn’t know how to enable or use T9.
    Just sayin....lol

Nah, I abbreviated then because T9 sucked at predicting what I was trying to type. I don't even use autofill on my current phone because even with the depth of datamining from Google it still sucks at predicting what I'm trying to say.
