Anybody knows what size T-nut or channel nut will fit inside the Yakima tracks?

The Yakima tracks I am familiar with don't use T-nut, rather a threaded piece of flat bar that fits in the groove.

Is this a new style of bar they are now producing?

I'm sure it's still the same style. Mine has the threaded flat pieces as well to attach the landing pads, but I'm sure there must be channel nuts that we can buy that will fit in there. I want to be able to attach other accessories to the tracks.

Front hitch, 5100's, 885's, Snugtop XV, Slimline II, Sumos, bed platform, AAL, interior LED lights in cab and bed, exterior camp/backup LED's, Rigid DOT Fogs and D2 Pro Spots, Mega Ultra +130 bulbs, heavy-duty fog light, spot light, and low beam wiring harness, Weathertech mats, Re-routed dif breather and A/C drip line, dash cam, front and side cameras, anytime rear camera and nav, Blue Seas fused bus bars to cab and bed, heavy-duty bus bar w/Anderson quick disconnects under the hood for powering winch, solar, air compressor, and other accessories.
My shell came with Yakima tracks and Thule crossbars. The foot packs used 5mm bolts/T-nuts. The width of the T-nuts are 18mm. FYI, I was able to put 8mm T-slot bolts into the tracks for my Front Runner rack, but these were an extremely tight fit. So, any T-nut for a 5mm - 8mm bolt should work, as long as the width is about 18mm. Here is a link to the T-nut/anchor plates that were used with my crossbars. If you want the track and nut specifications, click on the Q&A tab.
I have always thought these anchor plates were just another form of T-nuts.

ORSracksdirect and etrailer both have the t nuts, t bolts and anchor plates available if you call them. I had the same issue with my Yakima tracks on a leer and needed mounting plates to make my rack fit. It was harder than I thought to source these locally at a hardware store.

I like not having to remove the end caps. Does these fit just drop into the track and turn as you tighten them?

I've found that the head of a 3/8" carriage bolt slides into the Yakima HD t-track nicely. The square part of the carriage bolt head is large enough to prevent rotation when tightening. The only thing I'm not sure about is how much strength is lost from the relatively small surface area that makes contact with the crossbar track. Suitability might depend on the application and load.
