I have searched the forum and been unable to find the answer I am looking for. I have also checked Yakima's website and several others. I apologize if this thread is unnecessary.

Does anyone know how tall Yakima Q Towers are?

I am currently trying to mount a generic cargo basket to the roof of my Tacoma. 98 extended cab. The rear will be supported off the headache rack. The front will need either a permanent mount or a crossbar. Just kicking ideas around right now but think I have decided to use Yakima Q Towers with the q clips that mount in the door opening.

I just don't want the thing sticking up too high. If anyone knows lower profile mount options I am open to ideas. I can drill the roof if needed, this is a pickup for using, not for show.

    Thanks,

Are you wanting the height of the q tower itself, or the height of the bar off the roof?

    ^^^ Yeah, two different questions.

The height from the base of the tower to the top of the round bar is 5.25". Not sure about the other.

The height from the roof would be amazing.

This helps tremendously on it's own.

    Thanks.

3.5" at the center of the roof and 4.5" at the door. That's from the roof to the top of the bar.
