I have Yakima Q Towers and would like to swap out the Q-clips that fit the old car to those that fit the 2020 Tacoma. Does anyone know which Q-clips work? Or where to find that info. Yakima's website has zero information and they steer you toward buying into their new system.

I'm in a similar situation. I kept all my Yakima parts off my old vehicle when I sold it and discovered they don't make the q-clips anymore. Apparently, they haven't for a few years as they've gone to a Basetower system with Baseclips.

Honestly, after reading reviews of the new system it seems most people wish Yakima had kept the old q-towers and q-clips. The new towers have a piece that completely detaches so there is potential with losing it. Also, the general consensus is that they just seem 'cheaper' than the old set-up. That and if like us, you have to repurchase at least the new towers and clips and buy the RoundBar adapter if you want to use all your old gear. Frustrating.

Looking through Yakima's site with "Historical Fit's" https://pit.yakima.com/ they don't list a clip that was ever built for the Gen 3 trucks.

You need base clips 128 and 145 and baseline towers. Had that set up on my Tacoma for 3+ years with no issues. Gave everything but the clips to my son for his '20 Ford Ranger - he needed different base clips.

Just ordered new baseline towers and core bars/mounting adapters for my truck again, and I will re-use my 128 & 145 clips.

Yeah, it would have been nice if I could have re-used the Q towers from my Tundra along with the round bars I had and only needed to buy new clips, but, oh well.

The baseline towers are hard to find now - got mine @ rackoutfitters.com for $225 shipped (in transit as I type). A guy on ebay wanted $229 + $15 s/h USED due to their shortage.

I have clips and towers from my 2nd gen. Maybe I should pull them out of the box in my garage and verify what I have.

The Whispbars are on my 4runner now.

@PacoDevo Resurrecting this old thread - do you recall which base clips are the front and which are the rear?

I have a set of old towers/bars that I want to use on my 2020, but I only need to install the front bar (to use as a support for an air dam).

Sorry, but I can't find my instructions anywhere. Tried looking up info on Yakima and several other sites and called a few (closed?). NO luck getting the answer you need/want.
I suggest you find a local retailer for Yakima and call and ask them.
