Will this style clamp work with the OEM roof rack? I don't currently have a roof rack but want to get the new Yakima rooftop fishing rod mount. I'd prefer the OEM setup over the Yakima roof rack bars.

i mean i've heard both sides of this story....yakima roof rack bars are nearly $500. oem is ~250. Not sure why the OEM is considered garbage when i've seen a fair share of people hauling lumber, canoes, kayaks and more without issue.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Nothing wrong w the oem roof rack for light to medium duty loads that doesn’t exceed its capacity, ie snowboards, skis, bikes, and fishing rod carriers. It fits/looks great and work as intended.

Not only was it a huge pain in the ass to put on, it’s made out of plastic, mine broke after a couple months. If you actually plan on using it an aluminum rack is the best way
