    Hey y’all,

Anyone out there get their Tacoma wrapped? I’m getting price points all over the place, and am curious what any of you may have paid. Want to keep it simple with a solid color, possibly matte.

Sounds like you could do it yourself and correct a few mistakes you made along the way for cheaper. I'll admit, I didn't even fathom the price being that high.

Knifeless tape, good quality vinyl, and plenty of prep. Also using a heat gun helps sometimes.

I have a white 2016 mustang that I wanted the small flush mount rear spoiler wrapped in black. I tried it myself and eventually balled the wrap up and threw it in the garbage. Paid a guy 100$ to do it..saved my sanity.

    That makes sense.

$700 for the wrap is steep, but $3500+ to install seem excessive.

Most of that labor is prep, I have been told. Have to clean the hell out of it and smooth over any blemishes before applying.

$3500 is not steep for a quality full vehicle wrap. Quit spouting nonsense.

Anyone who thinks wrapping an entire vehicle is "easy" is clueless.

I know someone who professionally wraps vehicles and you would be shocked with the amount of labor time and prep work it takes to make it a professional wrap job. Also the price of some rolls of quality vinyl wrap is insane especially if you get into metallic wraps you’re looking at hundreds of dollars per roll. For a complete color change and with the larger surface area of a truck I would think a few thousand dollars is common and normal price and isn’t anything crazy. People just never seem to factor in skill and labor times nowadays, it’s like that for anything materials are cheap but knowledge and someone’s time is not.

We went to EJS in Moab multiple years in a row and have seen a couple DIY wraps and many professionally applied wraps. The difference from 20 feet in each of those cases was negligible.
However, the difference when standing directly in front of them was undeniable, the professionally applied wraps were hands down what you would expect when getting a full wrap. The two DIY wraps I remember seeing definitely looked like someone had applied them themselves. From a distance not terrible, but up close there were flaws everywhere.
Just sayin, the old adage is definitely true, you really do get what you pay for. If you are experienced at this they Id say go for it..........but if you've never done it then pay once, cry once and Id think you'd be much happier in the end.

I wouldn't say that, I was simply trying to say that having experience at this makes the difference between having a full wrap you are happy with and one you are not as happy with.
Maybe do a wrap with the help of someone who already is experienced with them?

Or start with a part of the rig and not a whole wrap?

40K+ for a truck???? Pssssh....save your money and build your own from scratch.

In all seriousness, wrapping an entire vehicle is not easy. Is the price point a little high? Probably. But it's a lot of work to do one right.

I would be interested to hear from folks who have done DIY wraps, successes and failures.

Some of you are saying do it yourself like it's a piece of cake. Wrapping a small section like hood, wings or spoiler might be fairly easy, but it's a pain wrapping an entire car for a first timer. Trust me if you want it to be done right, get someone who has skill. Or do it yourself and waste $$$$$ worth of wrap and waste your time.

No money, all went to truck...
wrapping properly is an art that takes a lot of skill. Sure we call could wrap something and it'll look like doodoo. Watch the vids, there's a lot of skill involved there.

I wrapped a few headlights in clear wrap. It's hard to get done correctly. I couldn't imagine doing a whole truck
