Would I regret bed lining my truck?

I am interested to hear pros and cons and from people with experience or who have seen it done.
I have a 04 Raven Black double that has seen better days.
The paint of the roof and hood is faded and there and hundreds of tiny paint blisters on the roof that are beginning to rust.( It reminds me of trucks from the south that live their life parked under a sappy tree in someone’s driveway.)
The bed is badly dented and has rusted through from years of rotten leaves trapped under a drop-in bed liner.
The rest of the body has lots of tiny dings, scratches and rock chips.
However it is a low mileage, fresh frame recall truck with decent bones.
Being a final year double cab trd 4x4, I believe it is worth investing some time and effort into some cosmetic restoration.

It’s a shame because I the factory black has a heavy amount of metal flake with almost a green hint to it and good panels really shine.
I recently purchased a replacement green bed and aftermarket tailgate.
    my options are
    A: respray in factory black

I love the color but I live in NY and plan on wheeling this truck the same as my old 4Runner and black really shows pinstriping.
This will also be easily a $4500 paint job.

    B. Leave it as is
under normal circumstances this makes the most sense.
However living in a heavily salted region all the paint blisters and chips are only going to get much worse.
    C. Bed liner paint job.
Let me start by saying I despise Most bed-liner paint jobs.
I can’t stand when people get lazy and spray over plastic trim, bumpers, door handles, etc.
my plan is it respray the truck and treat it like a complete repaint.
Bed, hood, doors will all be removed. Door Jams, insides of doors, will all be resprayed. I plan on using a the U-pol tintable raptor liner kit in white.
This will most likely require using a light colored epoxy primer since I will be color changing from dark to light.
U-pol is supposed to highly UV stable but I am concerned with the white beginning to yellow over time.
I’ve read the high PSI you spray, (and distance variance) the finer the texture you will get.
Mirrors, door handles, window trim, grilled, lights, fender flares, emblems, weather stripping, door, panels, everything will be removed.
So the examples below for the raptor liner white repaint jobs.

Would you expect this to absolutely kill resale value or would I just have to plan on finding the right buyer.
FYI I think in stock form, bedlined paints jobs look odd but with the right build, they now longer seem out of place.
I plan on using the original Expedition West Tacoma as an inspiration. Below is as the truck sits today.
I am currently working my way through reliability- tune up, fluids, filters, brake upgrades, suspension.

I think you've highlighted the strengths and limitations of bedlining a vehicle nicely above. Really, I think it comes down to your own preferences, which none of us are going to be able to tell you. Unlike a bad paint job, bedliner is exceedingly difficult to remove if you don't like it, so if you have doubts I would hold off.

That being said, the clear coat was terribly faded on my 95.5 and it was driving me crazy and something had to give. A few of my idiosyncratic decision making elements were:

1-A worthwhile paint job would have cost me more than the price I paid for the truck.
2-I wanted a cheap solution that would look better than my faded paint.
3-I don't give a shit what other people think.
4-I'm never, ever, ever going to sell this truck so resale value wasn't a consideration for me.

So lining the truck was a great option for me. I did mine a few weeks ago and I fucking love it.

It all comes down to you, man.

I raptor lined my bronco, coolest thing I ever did to it, I liked it so much I did the interior too lol. It's really awesome stuff, and really easy to work with, its a very forgiving painting experience since it is textured, just make sure your prep is on point and the application basically takes care of itself. I couldn't take my bronco out without getting multiple compliments, thumbs up, gawking, etc.

Just waiting to wreck my paint enough to warrant it on my tacoma :)

Its also SUPER easy to clean and way more durable.

I should state, because of your concerns, that I did A LOT of prep, I dismantled the entire truck, too everything off, preped all pieces individually, sprayed all pieces individually. I took about a week to prep, because I too didn't like the results of the quick sprays with basic masking, looked like trash. I wanted it good and uniform throughout, doorjambs, inside of angles, etc.

I sold my bronco for 16k, bought it for 5, I think it contributed MASSIVELY to my resale value... that being said, you will be limiting those who are interested.. BUT when you find the person who wants it, they'll REALLY want it.

Just to give you idea of what I am working with. I guess I would consider this more of a cosmetic restoration than a cheap respray as I already have a grand in a new bed tailgate and door.
Brand new frame, solid body mounts, rockers, and cab corners but a trashed bed from a drop-in liner

    Did you roll-on or spray?
I am considering raptor liner over monster because I have heard the UV stability is much better.
A large concern of mine since I am choosing such a finicky color like white.

Looks like a solid candidate. Prep that bad boy and spray! If you have any questions please feel free to PM me, I have tons of pictures of my entire process and would be more than happy to help with information.

if you ever accidentally rub against the truck it hurts you more than the truck.
i had a bedlined Disco and it was great never worrying about pinstriping on the trail

It’s really nice to just blow through limbs and bushes without concern for pinstripes and just hose and rub off the bark when you get home.

Extremely easy. I used one of those soft bristle brush things if there was some caked on bird poop or something nasty, but for the most part just hose it off. Way easier than a typical paint job to keep looking good.

the paint on my old 3rd gen 4runner was immaculate. I cringed going down tight wooded trails hearing the briars scrape down the side. This is a plus to me. As well as door dings living in a highly congested, urban area

Worrying about door dings is now just someone else's bad dream with a bedlined truck.

Whats happens if you get into an accident and/or ding to the liner?
