Im slated to have Woolwax put on today. I will be painting Eastwood rust encapsulated paint next summer, I don’t have the time before winter to do it. So will the Woolwax power wash off when I’m ready to paint for proper paint prep?

Guessing it will quadruple your project time......... if you can even get it cleaned enough to paint.

It will, but not as easy as fluid film.

Even fluid film is a challenge to get off. I painted then fluid filmed, then tried to clean it off to do some touch up paint and cleaning the frame by hand takes some serious time...

I’ve done a bit of painting on cars and I’m sure you already know this but it’s extremely sensitive to contamination. If you know for a fact your painting next season I would really suggest you look for an alternative cause you are going to create one hell of a job for yourself. That’s the stuff nightmares are made of

i put it on thick with the WW spray can, then tried to see what happens after a direct shot with the garden hose on power shower setting,
then rubbed the finger to see what was left near the top

I must have been lucky to get the sheet. Checked the faq on their website and it didnt include anything about washing/painting, and I knew that I read it somewhere. Glad I was able to find it.

I use simple green heavy duty , it’s purple in color and is safe on aluminum (doesn’t react with it or corrode it) and I put it in a cheap 1 gallon sprayer to apply it . I usually use a half gallon and then pressure wash the underbody and then the second half gallon and do it again

I think the hot water is key here. To harvest the oil from wool when it's being manufacturered, they would traditionally boil the wool in water. Eventually the wax/oil would float to the top. There may be more modern methods.
