Know fluid film is talked about extensively here. And alot of application info. I did do a search on woolwax and not much came up. However, I dont have an enclosed space to apply it anyways so wind is a major factor. Also, even though I usually perform any and all work myself on my vehicles, I honestly would prefer a pro to do this.
I decided to go woolwax cuz its a bit thicker AND there is an applier right near me. No fluid film or Kraft near me. Other than that, there are plenty of Line X type places, but Im not going that route cuz we all know why.
So I was quoted 300-350 for initial application on my 22 DCSB. He said in that ballpark, but not more than 350 for sure. Then touch ups every year or 2 at 150ish.

That seems reasonable to me, but wanted to ask you all first if thats about the going rate.

    Thanks

I feel for you not having an enclosed space to do it, but for the cost of a really complete WW kit and maybe a used compressor, you're at least equivalent to the initial cost that you were quoted.

I just received their kit that included the applicator gun and wands. I've heard that it will do up to eight vehicles.

    https://www.woolwaxusa.com/Woolwax®-Undercoat-Kit-4-Quarts-PRO-GUN-with-2-Extension-wands_p_42.html

When I ordered there was a flash sale that took another $12 off. Oh! The sale was still there for me, now.

    I have a compressor. 2 actually.
To clarify, I have an enclosed 2.5 garage, but its so filled with stuff (project car on stands, various parts, tools, etc) that I dont think Ill have enough room to work on the application in there. Would be a tight fit. I guess I could spend a few days cleaning up to make room...:annoyed:
Ill have to watch some vids on how to apply also.

don't need an enclosed space, its not like paint were overspray from the wind can screw it all up. Just park on the driveway on a nice day and go to town. A friend of mine has an out door lift and I've done a few FF applications on gusty fall days wind really doesn't effect it that much.

You don’t need an enclosed space. I’ve applied WW to my truck in my driveway every Fall without issue.

I parked my truck in the front yard on the grass and did it without any stands. Doesn’t hurt the grass any also.

Damn that seems high honestly. I do mine myself but the guys up here in New England get around $100 to $150 to spray a midsize truck

No shit? As u can see, Im not familiar with it. I was under the impression that it oversprayed all over...like paint.
Well that settles it, Ill definitely do it myself. Save a bunch.
    Thanks guys.

Nope. I just did mine Saturday on the lawn. I was the only thing covered with overspray when i finished. Get a respirator and some cheap coveralls and get to it! lol

It CAN over spray, but it doesn't dry so if it gets on something you don't want you can just wipe it off with a rag. After I do the front bumper/engine bay area it gets on the fenders, but a quick wipe with a shop towel and its all good.

wear a mask, or respirator too. 140-150 bucks for a kit, plus your time, is a no brainer (for me). you know it is done right, and you now have the applicator so, you can just buy a gallon of sprayable material for touch ups, yearly service, or other autos. pro tip... warm up the quarts in the microwave, for a minute or 2 (watch out for the wife seeing this) or put near a warming source, to make the WW warmer and thinner. it will help it spray better. 20221024_162053.jpg Had to stop at Wally world for some beer and snacks. Having a get together tonite to watch my Bears lose. They had these value size 15oz cans of FF for 10 each, so I just took what they had. 7 cans. Ill just give this a shot this year, see how it works out. 70 bucks and some time in the driveway sure as heck beats 350.
