Quitting or cutting back on anything isn't easy.
Almost drove myself mad when I quit drinking.
Every *body is different though, what works for one might not for another.

 

I struggle with portion control. Comes from growing up scarce.

So I've found if I prep everything, set out the portions, put them in individual containers, then put everything away except the exact amount I'm going to eat, it works.

And I hate it.

Weighed in 7#'s overweight one morning before school and lost 8#'s by 4pm.

You have to keep it off if you want to keep wrestling that weight class.

 

The protein absorption argument has been essentially debunked in favor of newer data and studies; it's just absorbed more slowly over time, but it isn't wasted. DM me if you want any links to read, interesting stuff.

The study you're likely referring to saw absorption issues above 25g/meal, but it was highly flawed. It was with whey protein shakes only, one meal only, no other protein or nutrient source, and in untrained (i.e. not jacked) individuals. The researchers have since corrected themselves, to their credit, but this idea still floats around.

Sorry if I hijacked the thread a bit, weight lifting and associated stuff is a personal passion.

 

Liquid calories can be crazy and people don’t even think about it. Bottle or two adds up quick, plus the sugar content in most things

if you want something “easy” drink mostly water and only eat things you have to prepare - no premade things that are full of things you can’t pronounce. Its interesting how things change when eating requires effort instead of just grabbing something but also your hunger / cravings change as you cut out the junk

Awe man, Going to have to add 30g protein shakes to your diet if you're going to do an 8 tire rotation every 5k miles.
