Does any one know what ecm plug E5 slot #5 on a 2002 3.4 powers. It is supposed to be one of the wires that needs to be unpinned for the auto trans. It is labeled as IGSW in the service manual and the ecm pinout guide @mosk from yota tech put together. Problem is my slot #5 wire is black w/ red stripe. Both fsm and the guide show them as black w/ white stripe. The other confusing part is on the same E5 plug it shows slot #15 as the same function, same wire color??? When I verified the wire #15 it is the correct color on my harness of black w/white stripe. The guide also states the are multiple wires labeled wrong in the fsm. Short of pulling out the entire engine harness and verifying every wire and deleting unused wires not sure how to figure this out, thanks guys

New to the tacomas but black/red is switched 12V on alot of toyotas, but I have also seen black/white for the same thing.
I would probe it unless someone knows for sure.

I read in the service manual IGSW stands for ignition switch power. You are probly right, I would just like to find out what it powers if it's hot. Rather not be running a random powered wire into my ecm that may not be required for manual trans. I think I found a local guy willing to let me take some pics of an 02 manual ecm in a stock truck

    Consult your 2002 wiring diagram.

IGSW includes multiple facets related to your ignition, starting, Engine control, and possibly your alarm & auto transmission circuit. Look at those specific circuits in the 2002 EWD. In my 04 E5pin15 is my one and only IGSW, it's one side of the powered electromagnet for my CoR(fuel pump relay). But I'm sure you're well aware alot of differnces there are between an 02 & an 04...

Personally. I'd check continuity at pins 5 & 15 of the unconnected E5 harness and see if they have a relationship. If you can't find any info on it I'd unpin #5 and see if your truck starts or not. Stays running, or if you throw any codes. It won't hurt anything.

When I swapped transmission/ecu at least two wires didn't fit the colors listed, but I was able to figure it out using my EWD.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Myself I have found what works the best is having the Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagrams for all the vehicles involved in the swap. I am used to working from them so for me it is easy .

I have seen the ECM pin outs in the Factory Service Manuals again you would need the years and models involved .
