Just got the viofo a119 v3 with a hardwire kit.

red cable (constant on) is plugged into dome light fuse with a 2.5 amp fuse for the dash cam and 7.5 for the dome.

Dash cam only works when truck is powered on. I want it on always. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

The dome light isn't constant. Use the HAZ fuse for that one. Or the empty one at the bottom.

Do you have any way to manage the power? because if it does stay on your truck will be dead in a day or two.
Look at something like the PowerMagicPro. It will turn off your camera if your power goes below 12v.

Nice. Might want to take a look at your tail fuse, looks hot.

I did red wire to tail.

    Acc to SFT LOCK ACC

    seems to be working fine.

I’m also using 2.5 fuses for the dash cam. Is that ok or should I switch to 5 amp?
    Thanks for the help.

2.5a is fine for a dash cam.

I mentioned the Tail fuse because looking at your fuses the second one down on the left (Tail 7.5a) is melted enough that you can't read the number. I would bet that it's burnt and if not it will be soon.

Also watch your add-a-fuse orientations, they only provide fuse protection one way; the two you have pointing to the right in your picture are correct, power comes into one leg, through the fuses, and out to the added component. On the one you have put in backwards on the left side pointing to the left- power is coming up the leg and out to the component without running through a fuse at all.

thanks for noticing that, I’ll change that fuse.

as far as the orientation of the add a fuses I’ll read what you wrote again later and fix it, im drinking right now and having trouble understand that lol.
    Thanks so much.

hey so I get what you mean now.
Problem is I can’t put it to the right because the other one is in the way. What should I do?

    thanks

If you plan to do much more, might be worthwhile to set up an auxiliary fuse box somewhere. Or, if the two leads that are fighting for position are the same function (keyed), and they both dont draw much power, just combine them into one tap.

If I were you I would sit down and figure out what I needed.
I don't love messing with important circuits like the ECU or IG1 at all, not worth the headaches when there are other options.
I also don't like going much more than 10A on an AddaFuse.

Constant: HAZ, Door F/L, Door F/R, or the empty slot at the bottom left.
Switched: Panel, Tail, P/Outlet No1, CargoLP, USB, BkupLP No3, Dome.

Should be enough room for three, if you need more than that start thinking about combining them - but keep your draw in mind..

look at it again, pull it off, turn 180 degrees and it will work. red wire comes out higher and misses the fuse you think is in the way.
unless it only attaches one way like you have it?
