I think there was a post on here at one point, people complaining how slow the wireless charges...
Wish is my experience, snail slow compared to direct plug-in...
My 15 year old son first pointed that out....

So, not sure about "fairly quickly"

For the op or others, I wouldn't put the effort in trying to rig your truck with a factory toyota wireless charging part / console....
Just do as others have suggested & rig something cheap for the area, that does the same thing...

Nope I have taken it out of the case to check and its no more warm than when I plug it in to charge it.
Edit: could be because its a magsafe case too, that allows the charge to pass through the case to the phone easier.

To the OP. Just to be clear. You don't have wireless charging for your phone. If you did, there will be an yellow sticker on the top left portion and the plastic will be ungrated and will have a wireless symbol on it.

Might be because I have a newer Iphone, not sure there but it will charge from 40% to full in about 40 mins on a longer drive for me.

Im also in a hard case though also, it is what is is...
That is the designated phone area whenever im in the car though!

There is post on here somewhere about pulling the fuse for the charger if you don't want it to work. I did it and the fuse is behind the glove box.

    Geniunly curious...
Only thing I can think of is if you felt your phone was getting to hot & didnt want to risk it?

I was surprised at how quickly it charged myself……is your case a magsafe case for wireless charging ? Maybe that it is the difference.

Wouldn't charge with my case, just get hot, charge without the case, still too hot. And I think it's a dumb spot.

I use a MagSafe case on my Pixel 8 phone, and a disc shaped MagSafe charger. I found the small standard bump stop in this space was insufficient to keep the phone from moving around during driving, and added a single small adhesive bumper that I found at Home Depot. I suppose you could also add an adhesive backing to the charger for similar stability.

I have wireless charging in my 3rd gen but never use it. I prefer wired charging.

Ours came with wireless charging and it is an absolute joke. If you use Carplay it actually could not even charge enough to keep a charge. Actually used the battery. We bought these and used some double stick tape. Works great. Actually charges the phone and then we use wireless carplay which is a game changer. Just drop it in and it starts charging.

    What's it charge rate?
How's it hold up against AA or car play sucking the battery?

I guess I'm lucky, my Samsung S23 charges with no issues, sure it's a slow charge. I use Waze on AA it will drain a cell phone battery fairly quickly, like 10 to 15 percent per hour. With the charger it's like 5 percent an hour. So it's doing it's job.

But is it? Shouldn't you actually get a charge not just drain "less". I use waze, sirius XM and carplay all the time and my aftermarket charger actually charges up my battery so when I get to my destination I have a full charge.
