I got a new phone today that supposedly does wireless charging but I guess I don't know how the Tacoma wireless charging in the truck works? Or maybe I don't have it? Does anyone know?17376735146535573673862174353997.jpg

I also don’t have wireless charging. Was tempted to buy a wireless charger that goes under a desk or table, take the dash apart and mount it behind that rubber wall. I got exhausted just thinking about it. Got a MagSafe charger and glued it on front with double sided tape.

My wife has one in her 24 rav 4 and she says they are crappy and slow to charge. I got a $21 wireless charger off Chinamazon and double sided taped it where the factory unit would be and it's awesome. My wife wsays she wished her rav 4 didn't have one so she could do what I did.

You’re not missing out. My 3G barely charged it and my current truck is identical.

On a trip from Williamsburg, VA to ATL, GA I noticed it struggling to keep my phone charged too. Realized that if I kept the phone's screen on while streaming music, using Google Maps, etc. the phone couldn't keep up the charge. Turned of the phone's screen and voila, charged full in about 1.5 hours while using all apps. I just controlled the phone using voice commands and used the Android Auto link on the infotainment system.

It doesnt work and it cooks your phone. I cant even use my phone after its been on there because it gets so hot, I want to disable it so i can put other things there. Such a wasted space. I enjoy driving the trailhunter but this truck has so much wasted real estate.

Charges very slow. You have to have a thin case for it to work. It’s better to plug it in if you can.

Mine works pretty well and I have an Iphone16 with a magsafe otterbox case that’s fairly thick. Charges really quick and phone never gets hot at all.

I picked this magsafe wireless charger up based on the recommendation from someone else on the forum. Got some decent double stick tape, 3M, from Walmart. What comes with it is not great. Mounted it on the left-hand side spot in your pic.

Great sticky magnet. No issues, charges quickly. I just run the little cord over to the USB-C and done.

Pixel 7 with SpyGen thin case. Doesn't overheat when charging.

On the “21? I’ve never really tried mine. I always thought I needed to take it out of the otter box to make it work properly.
I’ve been plugging it in for my Apple Pay and navigating needs.

Maybe you can’t feel it get hot because the case is fairly thick? Just a thought

No, my 3rd gen didn't have the option, but with the 24 even with the big bump around the iPhone case camera I still don't have any issues charging

Just put in this 3D printed base for an apple 25w wireless charger and it works great.
