I haven’t used the wireless charger much since I have to plug in for CarPlay. Finally got myself a CarlinKit for wireless CarPlay but I’m having issues with an iPhone 13 Pro not charging on the pad.
I have a regular case. Just ordered a MagSafe case.
I know qi and MagSafe are a little different technology but was wondering what experiences are others having, with charging this model iPhone while using a case on that pad.
The phone charges without the case with no problem.
The problem seems to be the size of the camera lens not letting the phone sit flat and the case adding a couple of millimeters around the lenses. No problem while using the table top Apple MagSafe charger with the case on.

That is pretty normal. That wireless charger does not work very well and mostly warms the phone if it does actually charge. I would (and do) resort to plugged-in CarPlay/radio interaction.

I have a wooden case on mine and it charges fine. It’s slow but it works. It’s kind of tricky to line up sometimes.

I've had two different cases on my 11 pro. One Pelican, and one SUP Case. They both charged fine, though the phone does get pretty warm if left there for a long time. I have to line the phone up in a very specific way, too.

When I first got my truck I had an iPhone 8 Plus that would charge fine even with an OtterBox Symmetry case on it. You just had to make sure it was positioned properly, which wasn't difficult. I then upgraded to an iPhone 13 Pro Max and no more charging. No matter what position I placed it in, no go. I really think it's the new camera set-up that leaves it just short of laying flat. I ended up getting one of these and a USB-C cable to use the fast charging capabilities of the phone and just lay it in the charging cubby for storage with the pad off.

I found the wireless charger in the truck to be more of a gimmick than actually useful. It heats the phone up a lot and is super slow charging. Since heat kills phone batteries, I use a wired charger for mine.

Mine has an otterbox and charges fine although it has to be in the bottom right corner of the charging pad to work.

I've had similar issues with my iPhone 13 Pro and wireless charging. The camera bump can definitely interfere, especially with cases that aren't designed with that in mind. I switched to a MagSafe-compatible case, which made a huge difference. The magnets in the case align the phone perfectly on the charging pad, ensuring a solid connection.

I've been using a slim, protective case I bought from https://inarascases.com/. It’s MagSafe-compatible, and I haven't had any charging issues since. The case also has a raised edge around the camera, which helps keep everything level when placed on a flat surface. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're still having trouble.

I was lucky to buy a used iPhone 13 at a good price. I like it a lot, but I had the same issue with the wireless charging. The extra thickness from the case definitely affects the connection. I switched to a MagSafe case and it really improved my experience, especially since it aligns better on the pad. Hope the new case works for your 13 Pro. Wireless charging is so convenient.

I have no issues with my 13. I have a carbon fiber case on it. I just have to make sure I slide the phone all the way left and back towards the shifter. In that spot it charges just fine.

The qi charger is super slow anyway, I got a MagSafe charging mount and hooked it up to a high power adapter for fast charging. Way better
