Hey guys, so my motor for the wiper fluid pump seems to work and make noise when i pull back on the wiper switch but no fluid is coming out.. i squeeze the hose from the fluid reservoir to where the fluid is released and i feel vibration.. so i dont think its a blown fuse.

i just pulled the full reservoir as shown in picture A.

picture B shows the harness that connects to the fluid reservoir and i see an additional connector hanging off to the side but dont see the connector the plugs into it.. any chance im missing that plug?

    any help is appreciated

at the bottom of the picture, the wire harness is awfully ugly looking, like it's been tampered with. Is there anything aftermarket added or is that truly how it comes from the factory. If it comes that way from the factory, sorry, I'm out/don't have anything else to lend to this.
    Good luck

unfortunately as far as I know it is factory, i thought the same thing too.. too bad the truck is out of warranty too.. knowing my dealer they will recommend replacing the whole reservoir and wiper harness

Did you pull the hose from the motor right at the reservoir and see if fluid is coming out? Of the pump itself.

The hose was not removed, you think there might be blockage within the hose to stop the flow? Again, i felt the hose constrict on all parts of the hose as i pulled on the wiper fluid switch..

I might need to do that but i guess im wondering does that smaller plug that i have circled need to be connected to anything? Its just hanging there

If itS coming out of the pump, reconnect the hose and follow it up. There a couple spots with connectors where you can disconnect the hose and check flow as you get closer to the sprayers on the hood.

One other quick Check which will seem silly make sure the breather hole in the cap isn’t clogged also make sure there’s no build up on the cap seat for the reservoir, Ive actually seen that seal cause of calcium and the breather hole completely clogged if no air can in the reservoir fluid won’t come out.

Yeah i looked at all the holes and they all looked good.. ill try removing the hose and see if either parts have something lodged in there restricting the fluid.. not likely but its worth a shot.

    thanks for the tips @gotoman1969

Some washer fluid tanks had the option of a fluid level that could be what the extra plug is for.

I have had pumps fail but not that age more like 20 years old.

Any front end damage that may have caused a used pump and tank to be swapped in??

Make sure your fluid hose isnt getting pinched between the cowl and the bottom side of the hood when it closes. Had this issue with mine and the same symptoms

You can also take some pressurized air and blow through the tubing to make sure there arent any blockages
