Similar vein, what washer fluid do you guys use? I run through a ton with all the bugs in the summer, haven't found one I like yet that clears the mess

Like my wiper blades, i usually run the Rain-X brand. Summer or winter blend.

Nice! If they ever streak up, just give them a wipe with a paper towel to get the dirt and bug guts off, and they should be good as new!

I assume the diff between the regulars and the scrubblade is the triangle pattern? What kind of life are you getting out of them?

I use the Michelin Guardian blades from Costco. I replace them every year.

I ran Bosch and Rain-X at the same time on my two wipers, Bosch lasted longer at effective wiping.

Platinum and heavy duty have same wiping element just the frames are different. Platinum is a beam style frame with a rubber cover to help in snow, like you see on late model vehicles. Platinum comes with additional adapters to fit multiple arm types.

Heavy duty is a steel conventional frame that only fits j-hook type arms. Tacoma's all have j-hook arms. SB recommends HD on Tacomas, but they'll both work. It just comes down to preference.

They also have insane customer service, so if anyone isn't completely stoked they do everything they can to help or replace for them.

Oh ya, most replace the blades every year to get best performance, but YMMV.

Just replaced with OEM this afternoon, very easy. Work well, occasionally just wipe the ends off to get the dirt off the rubber, works great. Had them since I bought the truck in Feb 2020.

Rain-x, Icon's and Lats worked better on my last Tacoma but did not have any longevity. By better, I don't mean $50+ dollars better you are paying for.

I have used OEM refills in all of my vehicles for years and when I couldn’t get them for some reason I found refills of the same length at the auto parts store — not complete blades, but refills. My first order of accessories for my 2021 DCSB OR was a set of the complete factory blades. Then, when the rubber insert needs to be replaced I swap out the complete blade in a few minutes and then replace the insert in the other blade set at my leisure and put them back on the shelf for a swap out next time.

Michelin blade/arm assembly cost about $7.50 in this area.

The Iowa weather is tough on blades. I've tried many brands over the years of owning vehicles. Doesn't seem to matter, the wipers either streak or chatter in about 1 year.

I do apply Rain-X to the windshield, this seems to help with wiper life.

Washer fluid, is all about the same, just need to be sure the freezing point is -34F or lower. Typically, I use the cheapest blue fluid.

Just replaced with Bosch on my wife's forester yesterday - ...
Out here in the south-west they will dry-rot before they go-bad from using too much in the rain.
Like batteries, they only last about 2 years.

I agree with StockLockrer, 2016 with original blades in Hawaii still performing good but just recently bought OEM refills to change out today. Best bang for the Buck and a no brainer.$.02
