Howdy all. I have been noticing for quite some time my driver side wiper blade is not making any contact with the top of the windshield. It makes contact all the way until it reaches where the overlap ends. I thought it may have just been the Costco Michelin blades, so I picked up new Toyota winter blades from the dealer yesterday and same result.

Truck was purchased new by me, so I have never bent them out of shape and have been the only person to change blades. I also verified they are the correct size. Today I tried some minor adjustments bending the wiper arm and absolutely no change. It is not something that is the end of the world, but it sort of interferes with my line of sight looking out the windshield. Anyone run into this and have any luck correcting it?

I had Michelin blades do this, went to Trico blades and it fixed it.

I don't think it is the blades. I have ran a couple sets of Costco Michelin blades before these and they never did this. New Toyota blades are doing it as well in the exact same spot.

Is it not making contact or is it not wiping properly? That is, can you see a physical gap when the wiper blade is at that point in it's travel, or is it leaving a smear or??

I had a problem with my 2018 that I blamed on the wipers - tried every brand of blade under the sun from OE to Rain-X to no-name. Turned out to be a nearly invisible layer of tree sap in those areas. Once I cleaned it with a clay bar, vinegar and a REALLY rough cloth, it was good as new.

Shit I found on CL or EBAY that I could screw on.
It's the blades. I just changed mine and noticed this the first time I used them in the rain.
I forget what I changed to atm, but they were out of Bosch Icons, so I got the next step down.
Doesn't bother me as it's only about 3/4 of an inch at the top.

No contact at all. Its a solid 2-3" inches of the blade. It sits tight against the windshield. when at the bottom and does not miss anything coming up, until it gets to the section where the overlap from the passenger blade ends.

Mine does the same thing. Thought about replacing the blades to see if it makes a difference. Just haven’t got around to it.

"Farther" denotes a physical distance or measurement. Whereas "further", is unmeasurable.

    For example:

The turn is farther down the road.

And @Junkhead is further proving himself a twat, for correcting someone's grammer grammar in an online forum.

I liked English 101 so much I took it three times... but I got it, and I get it.
Nothing screams at me more than incorrect grammar and misspelled words.
When I was screening applicants any misfire on either was an instant thumbs down on hiring.
    Resume tossed.

It's more important than you think in the business world.

In the trades I could care less. If I need a bit of spot welding I ain't calling my dentist anyway.
If I need a plumber I ain't calling a lawyer. If I need an engine rebuilt I'm not calling a computer whiz kid.
