Hey guys! Just joined the forum and about a week deep into being a taco owner! Have a small issue that im not sure where to begin to see whats up with it. My windshield washers wont spray the fluid at all. I have a 2016 SR5 tacoma double cap v6 with 25k miles.

I'm going to check the fuse and the line running from the resovoir tomorrow.. But im stumped as to what it could be thats causing it not to shoot liquid.

I've searched on google for the past 3 hours and only things popping up are a few 2nd gen threads where the motor blew for the washer motor. I can't imagine that being the case at 25k miles though?

Edit- Update. She's spraying again. Pulled the fuse and it was indeed blown. For anyone in the future, it's not a standard micro 10 amp fuse. It's a "Slim profile micro 10 amp fuse" my Napa around me was confused for a bit and we eventually found the fuses.

Subbed for outcome. Just started experiencing this at 40k miles. May have blown a fuse doing some other electrical work, but haven’t had time to Check fuses yet

That'll be my first check. Just have a hard time believing that a totally stock truck would burn a fuse that quick.

My though process is either fuse is blown or the line is kinked somewhere from the motor to the jets on the hood... But I think im being wishful since I can't hear the motor run at all.

When the reservoir freezes it blows a fuse when you attempt to use it. Judging from your name maybe that?

My 2015 4runner had same issue... pin connectors were corroded and broken. Had to replace wire harness.

My 2013 stopped working and was frozen at the bottom of the reservoir. Removed it and ran hot water to thaw out the pump. Works fine now.

    Good luck

Ya I may have done that. I was installing some shit and I accidentally installed my ARB switch wires backwards and somehow it triggered my wipers when turning on the pump. And then I switched some wires around and then it worked. I’m definitely not out of fluid, that was the first thing I checked. My scenario seems more likely that I blew a fuse with my tinkering, but yours is odd. Hopefully you get it figured out

Just happened to me two weeks ago. Thought it was frozen so thru warm water on it, checked fluid and it was half full. Wound up being a fuse...pretty strange but maybe like post #5 suggest, froze somewhere and blew when trying to use it. IDK never happened in all my years with any vehicle.

Haha.. That's what I assumed and picked up a gallon of the Rainx orange stuff.. popped the hood to fill her up.. and she was filled. Going to check the fuses in a bit. I'll post an update

Thank you everyone for the replies. Appreciate the help.

As stated, the cheap factory stuff will freeze.

I would return the Rainx orange stuff as you call it. That stuff clogs up the washer system bad, destroys wash system. I have had it happen, along with many others. Google it, you will see many complaints.

If the pump isn't making noise, there's your problem. Most likely a fuse but could be the pump

Agree... used it once. The windshield smeared so badly I had to pull over and wipe it off with kleenex and puddle water to continue driving.

Had the same problem in Wisconsin in mid 20's low 30's degree weather. Had to physically wipe of the nozzles with my finger and run the sprayers for about a minute then add low temp fluid. No fuse blown as of now.

Is this legit? I just started using this stuff. Can anyone confirm there is a problem with the RainX Orange and our Tacomas?

Just a tip: try adding a little rubbing alcohol next time you fill up the bug juice reservoir. It helps prevent freezing & works rather well cleaning the bug guts off the glass as well.
