Anyone run into this? I went to change out the windshield washer fluid tank, had an OEM part for my 02 V6 only to find this difference at the bottom? figure its for the low fluid level alert on dash. The one on the right is the original and has two connectors at the bottom that new one didn't come with. I had already transferred over the pump to the left. Everything else is exactly the same.

The level sensor was added in 1999 I believe. Looks like you got a 95-98 tank.

Some trim levels might have had the low level sensor, some might not have had it.
Early tacoma definitely did Not have it.

Return it or get one from the salvage yard.

I got a complete wiper with pump and low level sensor in excellent condition for 45.00
Because my truck didn’t come with one

Those OEM tanks are pricey too. Are you replacing due to the old unit cracking up the filler neck area?

My 98 has a low fluid level sensor. Some folks have swapped the sensor to a new tank by using a hole saw and sealing it up with silicone. It would probably be best to return it and get the correct tank though, they sell aftermarket ones on Amazon now.

My '96 didn't have the low fluid level sensor but when I replaced both the tank and pump recently the OEM units were slightly different but still worked without issue.

I drilled a hole in mine and haven't had an issue. The sensor mounts to a rubber gasket and it seals when you tighten it down.
