Yes she did. We were both out there on I90 scraping it. We got through just before they closed the road. It was a whiteout

    100%

What website did you find that from? I drive a 2021. I was gonna shop around before ordering. I wasnt gonna fix it til summer. No sense in overpaying. Kendall toyota local to me is scummy as hell.

Your 120 dollar cowl isn’t the right year. That or your screenshot is weird.

That plastic piece is easy to remove but a bitch to put back without breaking the wimpy fn clips on the engine side.
I’d pull it off and see if she popped a clip or tore the rubber!
Words are fun but she may have just popped if free or something.
Plastic crap is better done warm!

also pretty sure I’ve read here that not sealing can cause water inside the truck.

Mines chewed up in the center and has been for sometime. I think it might have been from me leaning on it while cleaning the windshield and prying it back into place. :anonymous: Another 3rd gen Fisher Price plastic piece courtesy of Toyota's bean counters. I'm not spending $350 to replace it. F it, life goes on. :notsure:

That cowl only keeps large debris from falling into the area that it covers. It doesn't prevent water from egressing and it doesn't matter anyway. Everything is sealed under it with the exception of the cabin air filter inlet vent.

I have removed my windshield cowl in the past to install steel mesh over the cabin air filter inlet vent (for rodent protection). Removing that cowl, you will be surprised to find some debris under it, leaves and other stuff can slip around the windshield wiper arms and collect.

I have some cuts on the lip of my windshield cowl from scraping ice too. Not a show stopper.

If you do decide to remove it, watch for that middle plastic clip that holds it on. There are several clips but that one is a bitch. Very easy to break it. I broke mine during removal. Still is not a show stopper.
