Valuable if you will leave windows cracked on a hot day (me), or I suppose if you smoke in your vehicle. Otherwise I see no real reason to have them.

I'll always pay more for in channel on a nice vehicle. Never a problem, and I dont want stickum on nice paint. If I had a cosmetic beater, I'd use the cheaper sick on type.

I got the avs in channel vent visors. I was a little skeptical during installation because the window would catch on the plastic when rolling the window up. However, once the visors are installed and the windows rolled up there is a 24hr period that the windows need to remain in the closed position. After the 24hr period the windows roll up and down flawlessly. No catching or scratching. That is what my wife complains about with the drivers side window down is the wind comes in and smacks her on the side of the head and messes up her hair. So they really do keep the wind from doing that ? Now that would be an incentive to get them . Just wondering if the stick on ones would still do that ?

Yes it does significantly damper the wind transfer thru the cab. Also, after installing and testing them out, I realized why they're specified as Window Deflectors rather than "rain guards". IMO the stick on ones act as rain guards only, essentially only allowing you to crack the window during a storm. The in-channel deflectors allow your window to roll down almost half way in a storm while keeping you dry inside. However, I would say the main purpose the in-channels serve are on blue sky days when you want all your windows down without getting beat up by a gust of wind

I've never put either kind on my truck, but I have seen the stick on ones on my girlfriend's SUV, and I will tell you the stick on one don't fair well over time. In channel would look better I believe.

I've had my avs in channel s for 10 years on my Tacoma. Only had to add extra tape once due to one falling out. Last set of the tape ons I had only lasted 5 years

Oh ok . Thank you for your reply. Yeah that makes sense . I do like the way the in-channel ones look but have also read some of the issues they have had. So now trying to decide on witch to go with.

Get the in-channel EGR's... They're cleaner looking than the stick on type & they're slimline

No worries. If it helps, most of the vehicles on the road I see with stick ons have at least one visor cracked or with a section broke off. I've never seen a in-channel with that specific problem. Goodluck man, my votes for in-channels

My point was that I have never seen any in channels with that particular problem, and to your point I wouldn't doubt it. I have personally driven another car with "stick ons" that have been on just as long without any cracks etc but I think the in channels provide far more window protection
