I'm looking to see what everyone has done window tint wise. I matched my front windows to the back tint.
My wife now says the back isn't dark enough (for the kids). Anyone have tint over the factory and how dark?
How about above the windshield? My old ram had the blueish tint to it. It was nice on those sunny days.

I believe it went with 30 on the windshield strip, 30 on front windows (no factory stained glass) and 30 on the rear windows (over factory stained glass)

I've always tinted at 30%. I would never advise tinting your windshield. The functionality of seeing out of your windshield should be a higher priority than cosmetics.

Right? Dumb af esp at night. All windshield are mandated for uv protection so you’ll be fine and won’t look like a raisin

Exactly! I still wanna see at night and all. I just want like the top edge of the windshield to block the sun a little bit. I think some people call it an eyebrow. My old ram came from the factory like that. I would never tint the whole windshield. Never made any sense to me to do that.

I have 12% in the fronts, 12% over factory in the rears, and 60% on the windshield. All in ceramic, for reflective purposes. I've always done my windshield in 60% and don't have any issues seeing through. The ceramic tint helps it not be so dark, but keeps UV out and reflects a lot more than regular tint.

Front at 30%, had 35% put over the factory glass in the back and it came out at 14% afterwards.

I tried to get mine matched. It's 25 or 30%. think it looks ok but the 3m ceramic tint they used is a little more grey and the rear Windows are a little more bronze color and just a tad not as dark from the inside.

You can tint the windshield but where I went they will only put the nearly clear heat blocking ceramic film or tint film from the top down to the AS1 line. I did not get that done.
I may go back and get the rear side and rear glass tinted so it's slightly darker than the front and also with the ceramic film for UV and heat control. IMG_20200830_111550.jpg

5% uniform all the way around. Nothing on windshield.
I think they said they put 18% over the back windows to match the front at 5%.
My last taco I had them do 5% all the way around, including 5% over the back windows. It was almost impossible to see into the back from the outside, even with your hand as a visor with your face against the window. At night it was also really dark from the inside. Almost too dark I'd say.
I really like the uniform 5 as opposed to the darker back windows. Very easy to see out of at night, and still dark enough to not be able to see anything from the outside.

I matched the back with 20% on the sides, and 60% full windshield both ceramic. No issues at night I think it knocks the glare down during the day and night. As far as the privacy glass in the back, it does have a smoke tint to it. I work for one of the oem glass suppliers for Toyota, the color of the privacy safety glass is based on our raw glass supplier. Currently there are 4 privacy glass colors we use blue, black, gray and smoke (brown). All privacy glass is industry standard 20%.

It is. Don’t remember the exact spray paint I used, but it wasn’t anything special. Just your typical paint from Lowe’s.

I haven’t had any issues with it peeling off or anything.

Will be doing 5% on driver/passenger window and 15% on the rears to include back glass and then 50% for the entire windshield on Thursday, have it on my Lexus and love it.
I dont remember last vehicle I had that didn't have 5% all around

How do you see out of the windows, especially at night with 5% tint? That's damn near limo tint.

It looks great! I’ll have to keep this in mind if I get the urge to change up the grille.

Not sure where where all you guys live, but where I am you cannot get a sticker if over 30% tint "legally". Few places check it.

Not that hard actually. Takes a little getting used to at first. Worst case scenario, just roll down the window a bit if ya have to. To me, that far amd few between inconvenience is worth the privacy of 5%

It is not as bad as you think, but on roads with no street lights it can be slightly difficult, but it is so worth it in the day. Florida is pretty relaxed, it is a secondary non-moving violation
