Good day all of my fellow tacoma owners. Just your thoughts on this matter. I just purchased a Warn VR 10 steel cable winch. Its the new style with the solenoid in the middle of the winch. Warn has informed me that they do not make a winch cover yet for this winch. Do any of you know of a winch cover...possibly a universal style cover, that will adequately fit my winch?
Thank you all ion advance and for your thoughts and suggestions for a cover.

Saw this old post and wondered how you made out? Thinking of a winch cover myself...

A quick google search shows many different universal winch covers. I would take some measurements and see if you can find something close and hope it works.

Thanks for the reply, I found the Warn designed for it. I guess the bigger question is will it help? Truck is a DD and if I use the winch twice a year, Ill be surprised. Just want to take care of the winch so it's there when needed. Thoughts ?

Where is it located that it can be covered? Is it outside the grill? As opposed to behind the bumper? It sounds like it would be hard to cover a winch behind the grill. My VR 10, I had to relocate the control box in order to fit it.

Have it planned for being behind a Greenlane stump bumper. I am waiting for the bumper now, so will see about the fit in a couple weeks I guess. Now that you moved the control box, do you think it would fit in your installation? Still on the fence if I get a benefit from cover...

I’d let it go for cheap, it’s been sitting there lonely, looking for a home. So it really needs adoption. Hold on though let me locate it too. But here’s how mine looks. 3D3778DF-C9A3-496F-AFA3-EE5E46A97DC0.jpg 99E0B8B4-33FE-4691-AA19-25CD4C0C88B3.jpgTop view in front of the radiator.

Sorry it’s hard to show because it’s hidden, in my case the cover would not be an option.

Thank you so much for the pics. Looks tighter in there than I thought. Not much room for anything in there. Also wish you good luck in finding your orphan kit a good home. I have the EVO coming and it takes a little different kit.
    Cheers :canada:
