Will this void my warranty?

Hey People! New Taco owner here. Got me a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off road and I need a phone mount! I want to mount this bad boy, but as much as I love my newborn Truck, I don't want to ruin my Toyota Care Warranty! You just have to drill holes on the top of the entertainment console, and attach the brackets to the radio mounts. No need to alter anything mechanical or electrical in the truck.... so yeah!

Any thoughts people?! Or better yet, has anyone installed this on their own taco?

No. Unless they can prove damage to anything being warranty repaired.

 

Lots of people have installed similar items. It will not void your warranty unless the holes you drill cause the problem on a warranty claim.

Also the new truck feeling will wear off and you'll be ok. It is a very clean install

 

That bezel comes of easy so you can drill the holes. It will void the warranty on that bezel piece but that's about it.

 

use 3m bro can build this under $60

 

People just don’t understand. So I’ll explain it.

So if you installed this and your Evap canister took a crap, no this would not void your warranty.

if however when mounting this, you drilled into your radio and it stopped working, yes your warranty would be voided on the radio

 

I used this product . You pop the bezel off the radio to drill so there should be zero chance of putting a hole in your radio.

 

To all of y’all concerned for my radio, don’t worry LOL. Instructions say to remove the whol front fascia to drill into the molding.

seems “kind of” non invasive to me. Like some plastic surgery that’s all haha

 

Yeah I looked at this one too! I was just concerned for the lateral forces being placed on the radio faceplate over time. So I went researching for something that could get more stability.

Yeah! It’s the new little brother to Expedition Essential’s Powered “TPAM” mounting system. I’ll link to it below. Basically, it forgoes the extra usb charging slots, but maintains the stability and function of the original!

exactly what im thinking. two way tape should do the trick, and it guarantee wont void the warranty
